Government Medical College & ESIC Hospital MBBS Review By Alan S Varkey

After finishing my 12th I decided to pursue my career in medicine so I wrote NEET and scored good marks. I kept GMC and ESIH Coimbatore as an option because it was a good college in a good city. The college was really suggested by many friends who were studying there.

The college provides MBBS course and various PG courses. You have to score 600+ in NEET exam. The college has a super specialty hospital and highly professional faculties. We have to pay college fees of 7500 per year and hostel fees of 750 per month. We have to pay a deposit of 15000 as caution.

The faculties are highly professional and friendly. They have a very good way of teaching that helps us to understand topic and clinical cases very easily. The faculties are mostly postgraduates who have more than 10 years of experience in teaching and clinical practice. Their style of teaching is very good and clear.

We have to do a 1 year internship at our college hospital. We will get paid approx. 26,500 per month. After that you can continue to work outside or pursue post graduation.

Both boy’s hostel and girl’s hostel are in the campus itself. They provide rooms for 3 people to share which are spacious and have common bathroom. Hostel also has a gymnasium facility and indoor game. room.

The college and hospital are in the same campus which is about 15 acres of land in middle of the city, where you have access to public transportation. Academic block is a 4 floored building with library, canteen, dissection halls, labs, etc. Basic amenities like toilets and mess hall are all present within the building itself.

Campus life is good in the college with sports activities like cricket, football, volleyball, and many more. College has a yearly cultural and sports fest. College also participated in inter college tournaments. Different clubs are there for quizzes, studying and speeches. Overall campus life is good and no ragging from seniors during freshman years.
