Comfort for Learning

Overall Rating
Shoolini University is situated in Solan, Himachal Pradesh and is ranked 89 among the universities. In 2012 It was not accredited, but today it has its name in the list of top ranked Universities. Admission Process was simple and I got my seat after clearing the admission test. I had to say there was huge competition even when the university was not accredited and the management was highly qualified and friendly.
 

Academics Rating
I took admission in B.Sc Hons Biotechnology after clearing entrance examination. Eligibility criteria was simple: - stream with 60% marks and had to pass entrance examination. Biotechnology was trending at that time which interested me too. Definitely everything was up to the mark when I joined the Shoolini Institute as it was not University till then. Me and my friend did performed research regarding jobs, and found pretty good data about jobs in Biotechnology sector.
 

Faculty Rating
Because I was from 2012 batch it's hard to remember about the figures regarding faculty, but one thing I surely remember is that I never experienced any inconveniences when it came to learning with BioTech faculty. Teachers were professionals, qualified and skilled. Biotechnology was certainly not easy for me, but whenever I needed help my teachers were always willing to clear my doubts.
 

Placement Rating
From our initial days we were looking forward for some info regarding placements because I was in the 2nd batch and had no idea about placements. When our senior got placements only then we were able to get idea about our future and felt secured. I have no idea about the companies and packages, but placements are good which I can assure. Some of my classmates did talk about packages, but least were interested in company placements then. I think 60% did received placements in 2012.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, I was a Border and had best hostel Life there. There were 3 students in one room. Boys and girls hostel is separate. Girls’ hostel was safe and we also had a caretaker couple. Per year total fee was approximately 50-60K. Food quality was a total disappointment at that time. We never ever enjoyed food in the hostel which I think is a common issue everywhere. Hostel was well secured and we had facility like TV, table tennis etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Shoolini Institute was near St Luke School with number of two buildings one institute another girls hostel. Yes, there was library, labs and small auditorium near canteen. There was no playground and cafeteria at the time of my batch. Medical and emergency support was never required and I have no idea about emergency support at the time. Our warden and caretaker were always there to support us and I never went beyond.
 

Campus Rating
Campus Life was great for me because we were hostlers and had great hostel and academic experience. I participated in painting competition, debates and other functions too... Fests and celebration were held every year like Diwali function, teacher's day, Holi celebration and much more.

    Green campus is the beauty of this university and this is acutely number 1 university of Himachal Pradesh. Shoolini University is located in Kashuali hills in Solan which is a very beautiful place of Himachal.     Overall Rating
    Most of the students including me were very keen to get into this university located in the mountains, but we all got a little disappointed as the experience is unique but not what we expected. Living in mountains in not an easy task, going to the classes is a hassle, the campus size is comparatively smaller to what other universities offer.     Overall, experience in this university is quite unique to be honest. This university offers a great atmosphere to live in and stay.
