GNIT Review

Overall Rating
Overall experience is good. The campus is open and has many grounds. Infrastructure is adequate. Campus is full Wi-Fi. The faculty of my department (CSE) is very helpful. College had a superb cultural involvement with regular competitions, events, and a big annual event. Many sports and tech activities are also organised.
 

Academics Rating
The college is affiliated under MAKAUT with academic autonomy. I had to take admission through WBJEE counselling. Admission through JEE Mains is also available. There is also an option of direct admission where students can contact the college directly. The cutoff for WBJEE ranges around 30k to 33k. There are also lateral entries admissions.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is very helpful. They are aptly qualified and their teaching style makes it very easy to understand the topics, except a very few. Equal attention is given to all students. Faculty encourages research and project works.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a very active and working placement cell.
 

Hostel Rating
There are hostels available, but I did not opt for this facility.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is adequate. The labs are well equipped and are regularly maintained. There are separate labs for different subjects in our department (CSE). There are dedicated R&D labs in each department. The library has a good stock of books but some of them are outdated. The building is full Wi-Fi given that you know the passwords.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is excellent. There are multiple technical fests followed by a major technical fest. There is an annual cultural fest-cum-intercollegiate competition. This is considered as the biggest event of the college. There are annual sports events which include sports like volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. There are grounds for volleyball and basket ball. Inter college cricket matches and football matches are also held.

    Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT) not only focuses on the academicals improvement of the students but also on the holistic development of each of its students. Teachers are very friendly, syllabus is completed within time for every subject and doubt clearing sessions are held after that, assignments and home tasks are given to ensure that students revise the chapters well.     My overall experience in my college in this one year has been good enough. Like any other student starting their college life, I was very much anxious about how it would be, whether I could fit in with the new crowd, how will I overcome with studies and coding and also have a social life.     I joined Guru Nanak Institute of Technology back in 2022 as a Computer Science and Engineering student. So far, the journey has been through ups and downs. I have made multiple great friends and have developed my network in this college. My seniors are very much inspiring, and I am inspired by them. Whenever I need an advice, I ask them.
