Honest Review on Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Science and Technology

Overall Rating
I choose this college due to the only reason that it was very near to my house compared to other colleges I got as per my entrance rank. Here I opted Mechanical Engineering as my branch. The college is average, honestly speaking don't expect too much from here. Also no good set of placements and the number of events conducted here are very less. Coming to the infrastructure, its quiet good and the fees is also affordable (25000 per semester).
 

Academics Rating
I got admission in the college based on my KEAM rank (Kerala Entrance Exam). But even if your rank is very less, you can secure a seat there through management quota. There are no other requirements for enrolling in this program. During my batch we had only 3 branches, Mechanical, Civil and Computer Science.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties in my department are quiet friendly and approachable. They are also well-educated and experienced. But the teaching method is not very top notch. Teaching style also is average. Notes and all have to be self prepared by us and exams are conducted twice - 2 internals and then the main semester exams.
 

Placement Rating
We do have a placement cell and several few companies visited our college. But most of them were local companies and very few students were placed.
 

Hostel Rating
We do have a hostel for boys and girls, and its infrastructure is not bad. Also mess is provided for hostellers.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The overall infrastructure of the college is quiet good. The college has 3 blocks- B.Tech, MBA and Polytechnic. Also there are many labs, a library, 2 hostels, canteen and auditorium. All the classes and other buildings are well-equipped with all the basic amenities provided. Also the campus is maintained efficiently.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is average here. Very less events are conducted here that includes technical events, cultural events, sports events, etc. Clubs are there, but they are not very active. Also NSS activities are conducted once in a while.

    Actually the reason I selected this college is because this was the only college where I got admission for my desired branch-Computer Science as per my KEAM merit list. Also I got in few other colleges, but either it was too far from my hometown or it didn't have seats for Computer Science. The reason why I will recommend my college to others is because the faculty of CS Department is very good, when all the portions are completed on time, multiple tests and assessments are conducted and proper ...
