BHU is a big name in the world in terms of largest residential university, education and research in wide areas. FOC, BHU is one the best colleges in India for the studies in commerce field. It is located near the Vishwanath Temple, BHU (widely called VT). It offers a variety of programs ranging from UG to Ph.D. My experience is pretty good in BHU as I was part of few internships and NSS, and I explored the city and the university too. I will recommend choosing this college because of academic excellence, networking, internship opportunity, NCC, NSS, societies and extracurricular activities that are organised by the college.

FOC offers two courses in under graduation that are Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) with fees - 2000 per year, and Bachelor's of Commerce (Hons.) Financial Market Management with fees - 25000 per year. I personally chose the special course as I'm a finance enthusiast and this course mainly focuses on finance. This course include subjects like, Security analysis, portfolio management, New issue market operations, also one month of internship is mandatory on which a viva-voice will be conducted in the last semester. The course is divided into six semesters, further divided into six subjects in each semester. To get admission in FOC, BHU one must qualify the entrance exam named Central University Entrance Test (widely known as CUET), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and also choose BHU while filling the form of CUET. Only a good score will fetch you this college as after Delhi University (DU) students choose BHU only. All the students who have passed 12th boards or are appearing in the boards are eligible for this undergraduate course.

As I mentioned previously that BHU is known for its academic excellence, one can assume the faculty here is one of the best. They all have a good experience and expertise in the subjects. Some of them even were a working professional in the financial sector before they taken up teaching. There diverse backgrounds, research, teaching styles and resources will definitely uplift your personality, candidature, skills and knowledge. They also are very helpful and supportive in terms of education and related things and things that are unrelated too.

Yes, the FOC, BHU do have its Placement cell which is very helpful for the student to get placements and enter into the industry. Companies like ICICI, Accenture, HDFC, Decathlon, etc. come for recruiting students from the college. The college provides an average package of 5 lakh per annum and a highest package of 11 lakh per annum. Graduates of this program are well-prepared for various roles in the financial sector. The university’s strong industry connections and career services further enhance job placement opportunities.

Yes, FOC, BHU has residential facilities. Hostel facility is provided to the meritorious students. A large number of students reside outside the campus too. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Hostels have a good, well furnished and maintained infrastructure. The huge building has 3 floors. Each of the floors has water coolers, 6 to 8 washrooms so that no chaos is created. Good food, 24x7 electricity, garden, parking and other amenities are available in the campus. The hostel also organises separate events, competitions and fun activities. There is a separate hostel for the international students who come from worldwide. That international hostel is nonetheless than a hotel and all the facilities there are at top.

FOC, BHU has 3 floored building. At the entrance of the building, a statue of Goddess Saraswati is placed. Students and teachers take blessings at the entrance itself then move towards their classes. Each of the floors has 10 to 12 classes. Each floor has water coolers and washrooms. There's a big auditorium where various seminars and other events take place. There's also a library and computer lab for students. Each BHU student is also having the facility to go to the central library of BHU and the cyber library. There are tones of new and old books that are preserved as antiques and old scriptures. The BHU provides transportation in the campus. It’s by bus that goes on in every half an hour interval.

Although I'm a student of 2020 batch whose first half of the college passed in the lockdowns but the second half of my college was really amazing. I met new and diverse people, made new friends, did two internships, explored the city and the campus, attended concerts, stand-up comedy nights, and other events and fun activities. I was also part of NSS, completed various 1day camps and a 7day camp. It gives me a different perspective to think and made a positive difference in me.
