Pune Institute of Computer Technology – My Views

Overall Rating
PICT is a great college with many smart minds in the campus. The overall environment of Pune Institute of Computer Technology is studious and focused on careers. The canteen provides decent quality and affordable food and the staff is very cooperative. Washrooms and lobbies are cleaned daily from time to time making the campus non bacterial, healthy and safe.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen the Electronics and Telecommunications course (ENTC) in PICT. This course teaches one about the VLSI knowledge, C embedded knowledge required in designing different circuits, PCB designing required to design layouts of PCB, in depth knowledge about telecommunication signals, and more. Minimum percentage to get an admission in ENTC is 96-97 %tile in MHT-CET exam or at least 96%tile in JEE Mains. As semiconductor industries are being brought in India, the market of Electronics is increasing and as it's a core branch, so I chose this course.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of PICT is excellent with almost more than 20 years of experience. Some teachers are strict but it’s only for the good of all students so they don’t bunk any classes and lag in the scheduled exam portion. All the teachers are highly dedicated unlike other colleges and everyone has a different way of teaching. All the teachers believe in more practical knowledge rather than bookish theory knowledge so we also have flip classrooms, ppt presentations and many more activities in class.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we do have a placement cell in PICT. In fact, the training and placement cell (TNP) of PICT is renowned to acquire best jobs to the students in the industry. Narkhede Sir, the current head of Training and Placement cell is very well renowned for his excellent reputation among companies and brings top companies of the market. The overall student atmosphere of the college helps in building your personality and make you placement ready.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we do have hostels in our college. There is a separate facility for boys and girls hostel. There is a scope of renovation in the boy’s hostel as the building is old and water leaks in some of the rooms. The girl’s hostel building is pretty good. It also has a lift in it.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of PICT is just uptu the mark. The campus area is small and only consisting of a basketball and volleyball court as sports playgrounds. There is an indoor table tennis setup which is quite good. The classrooms and benches are good. There's a projector in every classroom for e-learning. The bathrooms and lobbies are hygienic and they are cleaned daily. There is a library to study and borrow books from. There is a reading hall for all the students to study in their free time.
 

Campus Rating
It is safe to say that PICT is a powerhouse of technical events and fests. We have many active clubs including the MUN, Robotics, IEEE and ACM as coding clubs. There are many flagship events and the crowd of PICT is amazingly talented. Everyone is active in clubs and is highly willing to participate in events. The Arts Circle of PICT is amazing as well. Overall PICT is a really active college helping in the development of students.

I was preparing for JEE and JEE Advanced but wasn't able to crack it.     PICT college is the one of the best technology college in Maharashtra. In my college the placement is the best part. The college provides best faculty members to educate us.     So basically, I chose PICT just like others because of it being a reputed institute. And, to be very honest, the institute seems to be living up to its expectations as of now. I have been in this institute for more than a year now, and have seen 2 full blown placement seasons here. You get shocked seeing the pay packages which the visiting companies offer.
