Fergusson College B.A Review By Joshi Anjali

I chose this college because I wanted to pursue Psychology and very few colleges offer this course. Plus this college is one of the top colleges of Pune. It also provided a Hons. Course which is basically of four years and is an alternate for a post graduate degree, which saves me a year.

I am a Psychology student in Fergusson College, Pune. It provides bachelor, Honor, Master and Ph.D in the field of Psychology. You need to get a score under the cutoff of the college to get admission in this college. The cut off for the college was 94% this year. There is also a reservation quota for eligible students. There are various subjects provided to select as per choice but it is first come first serve, because there are limited seats available for the subjects expect for the major subjects.

The faculty is amazing. We basically have two teachers for the subject of Psychology. The first is mostly for the lectures and the second one is mostly for the practicals but he also takes lectures. They are both amazing at teaching and interacting with the class. I was really impressed with the sir who conducts practicals. Mostly every lecturer has a doctorate in the college for their subjects.

We do have a placement cell in the college. But I’m not so sure about whether they provide a placement in the field of Psychology. Even if they do, the placement opportunities are not so good and the packages are also very less.

The hostel facility of the college is not so good. The living facility, meaning the area provided to the students is very small and the conditions are not so good. The fee structure for the hostel is very reasonable but I probably won't suggest living in the hostel.

The infrastructure is very good in looks. The canteens are very nice. They provide nice food quality. Although the classrooms are not very developed when it comes to technology. The restroom provisions are not nice at all. The library is very significant for the students although it doesn't open in the morning.

The campus life is great for the students who live nearby to the college. The fests take place in almost every 2 months. It is a very happening college. Events like Psy-Fy, Vividh and Wevolve take place every year. Plus the annual fests that take place around the end of the year, lasts for almost 2 weeks. Societies like NCC and NSS are also available in the campus.
