Ramjas College B.Com Review By Disha Sharma

Ramjas College is one of the prestigious colleges of Delhi University. The infrastructure when I got into this college was not that good but the authorities are now working on it and have made it a lot better. I am pursuing Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) and the faculty members here are some of the greatest people who are quite a lot famous in their area of work. I've been a part of a lot of societies and they all bring out something productive from you. Ramjas College is generally compared with Shri Venkateswara College but I think being a part of north campus in itself brings a lot to you. You get a better campus life here, surrounded by some of the best colleges. Ramjas College also provides NCC for the female students. Ramjas College offers the largest variety of courses so one gets to experience different types of crowd at a single place. Also the fee of Ramjas College is pretty affordable. Then comes the last part and the most interesting part, the annual fest- one of the main festivities, whole college has a different vibe during this time. The memories you create with your friends here are unforgettable. We have to juggle a lot between things in college but all of this makes the college experience even more memorable.

I am pursuing B.Com (Hons.) And now due to NEP you can choose any combination of subjects including English and Accounts / Mathematics depending upon your strengths. My combination was English, Economics, Business Studies and Accounts. Anyone who has studied Accounts or Math in class 11th and 12th is eligible for this course. This course will provide me detailed knowledge of subjects related to Management, Business and Finance.

The faculty of commerce department is great. The teachers have a lot of qualifications and have great backgrounds, but their way of teaching varies depending on the different techniques of teaching of every professor. I've got some good professors and some who are not that good in teaching but all of them have great knowledge. If you can go and ask them about their subjects they can tell you a lot. Though teachers are not that willing to teach on their own you have to go ask them for everything.

Placements are not that good here. We have a placement cell which works solely for this and it do bring a lot of companies on campus including the big 4 but the packages are not that great. They are either average or below average. One has to find good placement outside of college and Ramjas College equips you with all the necessities to do so.

Hostel Facilities are available in Ramjas College. The hostel is in the college campus and is really close to buildings where we take our classes. Though the hostel doesn't have a lot of space and it’s pretty competitive to get in. it has all the basic facilities and the food is also not that bad. There are restrictions on timings to get back into the hostel.

Ramjas College has a very pretty infrastructure consisting of two buildings, four lawns, a canteen area, an amphitheater area, ECA room, a seminar hall, a well furnished and big auditorium, basket ball court, volleyball court, badminton court, and a sports complex including gym for both boys and girls. It is full of greenery and walking in the campus in evening feels surreal. The lawns are in between the two main buildings of Ramjas College (i.e. the new building and the old building) and are covered with greenery and in fest season it blooms out with all the decorations of different departments.

Ramjas has it all in its campus if you're sports enthusiast go for it, art lover then you have a lot of clubs to join. Ramjas College has numerous societies to join according to your interest. These societies help you to get familiar to your peers and seniors of different departments and make friends out of your own department. Fests are the most awaiting part of every one's college life and the fest season will leave you in awe. Yes you'll have that much fun here. There are a plenty of clubs and societies in Ramjas, these are - Focus (photography society), Mélange (fine arts society), Ramjas College Dance Society, Ramjas College Debating Club, MUN, and many more. You get to face a really different crowd here, be it in academics, sports, or other extra- curricular activities. You will also get to experience the festivities of different colleges including academic plus points like panel discussions and speaker sessions in different colleges and more.
