Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce is a wonderful college situated in Northwest of Delhi at Netaji Subhash Place Pitampura. It is a premium institute for commerce established in 1984 and is among one of the topmost colleges for Commerce and Economics in Delhi University. It is known for its affiliation with the group of Khalsa Colleges in DU and the overall culture and legacy of Sikh Colleges that it carries.

This college offers a plethora of courses, including Commerce, Economics, Management and Computer courses like B.Com Debt Owners, Punjabi Owners, B.Sc Computer Science, Economics (Hons.), Management Studies and Business Economics. It ranks among the top 10 choices of colleges for DU aspirants for its state of the art infrastructure and renowned faculty. Its commerce and economics courses are famous in whole DU where students from north campus colleges also migrate to SGGSCC for their economics degree.

The faculty of this college is amongst the most intellectual and experienced faculty. The curriculum for these courses across DU is designed by advice of faculty of this college itself. These are all Ph.D graduate teachers with at least 30 years of experience in teaching, who are still motivated and enthusiastic about their respective subjects and keen on imparting that knowledge to students. The teacher to student ratio is also well maintained and teachers always supervise their students on a regular basis.

SGGSCC has a very active Training and Placements Cell which works thoroughly to get many companies for placement and internship opportunities like KPMG, Baine & Co., Deloitte, PWC, EY and many more. The Average package for the placement has been 5.5 LPA this year and highest being 25 LPA at an undergraduate level even in times of recession which is very high as compared to other colleges of DU.

SGGSCC has state-of-the-art hostel facilities for outstation girl students. The hostel premises are within the college and the staff ensures the strict safety of the students. There is a curfew after 7 pm and parents consent is required to go out after curfew. The hostel also has all the latest facilities like air conditioning, laundry, mess and common room. Each room is a triple sharing room with 3 single beds, cupboards and study tables.

SGGSCC is best known for its wonderful infrastructure which leaves behind almost all the colleges of DU. With each and every class fully air conditioned and projector installed, it has the best infrastructure in any college in DU. There are also other infrastructural facilities provided like a fully air conditioned canteen, 3 floored library, printing shop within college and a Café Coffee Day booth inside. There are also good sports facilities with huge grounds for volleyball, basketball, football, cricket, and badminton. There is also a shooting range in the college for shooting professionals.

The Campus life itself is the most fun part about any college and I must say SGGSCC provides the most fun, interactive and happening college life in DU. Although being an off campus college people think it would be rather quiet, but the opposite is the case. There are many activities and events planned almost every week by its dozens of college societies and seminars, webinars, games, events, competitions are held here regularly. The annual fest of GGS is also famous among DU for its Punjabi theme and energetic performances and events. Just this year there were 4 different guest celebrities that performed in the college for the fest. This has never happened in any DU college. There is in general a very nice, jolly and friendly environment in the college which is good for students, where fun is well balanced with productive and thought provoking conversations.
