RCC Institute of Information Technology WBJEE cut off rank around 25000 needed

First of all, I chose studying at RCCIIT because it is a semi government college. Besides that, the fees of this college is lower that other colleges in West Bengal. When I was preparing for WBJEE when my teacher's daughter got placed in a good MNC called NRI FinTech from RCCIIT. So from that I got the motivation to get into this college. The overall experience in our college is not bad. We have good teachers in our college who help us in various coding problems. We have a good alumni network which helps us to get job easily through their referral.

The course which I am pursuing is Information Technology. To get a branch in RCCIIT you have to first give WBJEE and secure a rank around 25000. Then through the counselling process you will get a branch. There is no prerequisite for getting the branch; you just have to be more logical because the course demands the ability of logical thinking. This branch focuses more on programming than other branches. In the first year, you will be taught just the basic subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. From second year onwards you will be introduced to the Core Computer Science subjects such as COA, Data Structure and Algorithms.

The faculty members are nice and helpful. The good and friendly teachers will give you marks as much as they can in the internals. They will give full marks in practical exams if you attend the labs regularly. Most of the teachers in our college are well educated. They have done their M.Tech and Ph.D from reputed colleges in India. At last, the HOD of our department is nice and chill. He teaches us DSA so easily that I, who was so afraid of DSA, am now a LeetCode solver.

Yes, we have a placement cell. From the time between the end of 6th semester to the starting of 7th semester, companies come to our campus to recruit students through the on-campus drive. Many companies like Wipro, TCS, Cognizant and Accenture visit our college. Many product based companies like NRI FinTech, Paytm and BMC also visit for providing roles such as front-end engineer and IT specialist. The criteria of the recruitment are that you have no backlogs and have a minimum of 60% throughout your academic journey. The evaluation by companies starts with an aptitude round and then they have an interview round. Every round is eliminatory. But don’t be worried as you will get many opportunities.

We have no hostel facility in our college campus, but you can opt for PGs. You will find plenty number of PGs near our college. The cost of living in PGs is around Rs.5000 to Rs. 7000 per month. There are also many food courts near our college from where you can have your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We have two campuses in our college. The first one is the main campus of our college. It is a new campus where our classes are conducted. It has a building with four floors. Each floor represents a branch. There are plenty of rooms on each floor including staff rooms. Every floor has a water cooler which is a great relief in the summer. The second campus is called the old campus. It has a pond. On the opposite side of the pond, we have our auditorium where many events are organized. We also have a library and mechanical workshop room in the old campus which is opposite to our new campus.

I had a great campus life during these 3 years. I build an emotional bond with this college. We had no attendance issues. The teachers even gave us full attendance if they knew us. There are many clubs like the chess club, coding club which I have participated in. The technical fest is called ‘Techtrix’ and the cultural fest is called ‘Regalia’.
