A review from a 1st year student of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College

Overall Rating
I am a first year student at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi. As I am a student of CUET 2023 batch, So I got this college according to my preference list. At first I was quiet disappointed but later I realized that I got one of the best colleges in terms of commerce courses. Our college offers best commerce faculty to the students. No doubt the faculty members are really supportive. The Principal Prof. Arun Kumar Attree is also constantly contributing towards the growth of the college both academically and infrastructure wise.
 

Academics Rating
As mentioned above, the college is one of the best colleges in terms of offering commerce courses. The commerce courses holds maximum of the strength of college. The entry requirements for the same is doing exceptionally well in CUET exam as the CUET score and preference list decides the college.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of the college are really supportive and understanding. The teachers are masters in their fields. They have proper knowledge of their own subject. Most of the teachers use practical method of teaching the concepts which makes their teaching style more engaging and interesting. They successfully grab the attention of the students towards their subject. The assignments and projects assigned by them are also insightful as it requires proper research of the concept leading to value and skill addition.
 

Placement Rating
The college has its own placement cell which works tirelessly throughout the year in order to grab the placement opportunities for the students. The Placement Cell helps the students in many ways like by organising Placement Webinars, Events, CV Building Sessions, etc. The Cell has its tie up with the BIG 4 and Deloitte being the mass recruiter.
 

Hostel Rating
One of the drawbacks of the college is that it does not offer hostel facilities. However PG and flats are available nearby at affordable prices.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college infrastructure consists of IT Infrastructure, Counselling Units, Medical Facilities, Security, Girls Common Room, Sports Facilities, Canteen and Cafeteria, Section for Visually Challenged Students, etc. The IT Infrastructure of the college involves of E-Administration, E-Surveillance, Computer Labs, Seminar Halls, Smart Classrooms, and Live Studio fulfilling the necessity of the students and teachers.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of the college is also quiet good as the college organises cultural fests. The cultural fests are engaging as one can see a good amount of crowd participating in various activities such as dance, music, etc. The college also organises many other events such as sports event for both the teachers as well as the students. Its quiet fun as one can see teachers and students competing with one another.

    Talking about the campus of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, it's quite big. Overall academic strictness is there with attendance issue too, like after the new principal got appointed here one has to maintain minimum attendance of 66.7% to give semester exams, otherwise you'll get detained....     SBSC is located in the south campus and the nearest metro station is Chirag Delhi. College has numerous undergraduate programs. SBSC has an impressive number of placements offered.
