Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology is the best Engineering institute affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. With its 25th anniversary, MAIT has established itself as a top choice for Computer Science Engineering students. It offers excellent education without the burden of exorbitant fees as compared to private universities. It is the top institute in the country for students who have scored 95-96 percentiles in JEE mains. My overall experience in MAIT has been great till now.

This institute offers the Engineering course in 5 streams i.e. Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Other than these, there are specializations in these branches such as Engineering in Computer Science Technology, Engineering in Computer Science in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science as well as Engineering in Electronics and Communication in Advanced Communication Technology or VLSI. To get admission into these courses you have to give JEE Mains and then fill the form for IPU counselling.

The faculty members of our institute are decent. Some professors are really enthusiastic about their subject while others are not. Most of our professors have done PhD. Some of them have also completed their post-graduation from IIT. As the institute is affiliated to GSSIPU, our curriculum is decided by the university which is not industrial oriented.

Yes, we have a Training and Placement Cell in our institute. Placements are the sole reason why students leave the lower branches in DTU as well as NSUT and take admission in MAIT. The lowest package in MAIT is 6 LPA but the average package for top branches i.e. CS, IT and ECE is above 10 LPA (including off-campus placements). For on-campus placements some good companies visit our campus such as Amazon had offered a package of 44 LPA for SDE profile and De Shaw offered the package of 55 LPA for MTS profile. ZS Associates is also one of the most prominent companies that hires the most students (about 65-70) from our institute offering the package of 14 LPA. Here a good percentage of students get placed in service-based companies. But placements for core branches are not that great. Students from core branch get placed in IT companies but most of them go for higher studies such as M.Tech or MBA.

We have great hostels in our campus, but they are only for boys. The hostels are also very expensive, but the facilities provided are very good.

The campus size of this institute is around 15-20 acres. There are different academic blocks for each branch. The classes are very spacious, providing good facilities. The condition of the buildings is good too. The infrastructure of this institute strikes a balance between functionality and aesthetics. There are 4 canteens in the campus for snacking and having some fun. While the infrastructure may not be jaw dropping, but it is not so bad.

Overall, the campus life of MAIT is good. There are many interesting clubs in our institute according to the interest of students. There are clubs for coding, singing, dancing, painting, photography, robotics and many more. Our cultural fest is also great. Last year the special guest of our fest was the rapper Raftaar. There are many competitions and activities that go on throughout the semester.
