Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College is one of the best colleges of Delhi University

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College is now one the best colleges of Delhi University, it is located in South Delhi. It is an extension to the Bhagat Singh Morning College but is a separate college sharing same campus area. I got into this college due to a stupid mistake and was so confused firstly because I did not know of it and was scared that it might have bad crowd, infrastructure and everything but it turned out above my expectations and honestly, I'm at comfort like who wouldn't want to wake up late do all chores and then go to college. Well, everything has its perks and so does an evening college. The crowd is very promising, and it is said that it’s somewhat even better than morning college based on their knowledge and skills. The faculty is really cool but doesn't do much when it comes to teaching. There are abundant clubs available to put your skill set and mind somewhere else. There aren't hostel facilities available by the college but can be easily sourced outside the campus. It has been good so far.

Students can take admission in any of the offered courses by writing CUET exam and achieving a certain criterion of marks. I'm currently enrolled in B.Com (Hons.), Commerce as my domain would offer me variety of career options and which is also one of the best courses of Bhagat Singh College in both evening and morning college. It is also the one that is widely preferred and bests in Delhi University. I'm currently in my 2nd year and so far, it has been really awesome to see that almost entire 3rd year students have bagged jobs through college giving Morning college a tough competition only when people tried to scare us of college's ability to bring in companies.

Evening College's faculty is surely my favorite because of their friendly nature with students but that too only apart from their duty. Based on their teaching style I do not recommend them, yes, they are now more appearing given the strict regulations laid down by our principal. Only a handful of teachers are fine when it comes to giving their 100% for us. Apart from that they are all very calm and understanding.

Evening college has never had a big name in the markets as now in the name of placements or whatsoever. It has definitely outdone itself in this regard and has also given quite a competition to the morning college. Students got placed into companies like Deloitte, Grant Thorton, Talent Serve, FNP, Radiant, Zomato, and more. Clearly, the Placement Cell worked their best in bringing all senior and well-known companies for the sake of our college's student and reputation.

There's no such hostel facility yet available here in Bhagat Singh college, however there are flats and pgs available at a walking distance from the college in Sheikh Sarai, a residential area and also Chirag Delhi. One can source flats and pgs through brokers available just in the front line of college.

As of current times, there is an ongoing construction for building maintenance and room availability for curricular activities. The college has a beautiful infrastructure from the outside however some buildings remained for development like the E-block, which is hopeful to be well-constructed by the time we are back after summer break. Some classes are really well built with like smart TV, cushioned seats, good lighting. There are 2 grounds, and both are well maintained, one is rather small, and the other hosts matches and games. College also has an indoor games room accessible to all the students and teachers. There is a canteen and a cafe shack, water coolers on every floor of the buildings. There is a newly built lift facility as well but for the disabled. Overall, its good but it can be improved.

The crowd is diversified and it's great to know people from legit different backgrounds. The best part is the seniors, they are kind of a good support and inspiration as there is no such ragging involved anywhere near us. Teachers are friendly too; the staff is rigid over entry but soft hearted as we communicate with them inside the campus. The societies play a major role in any college students' life, there is a whole bunch of SOCs available for one, in every department whether its arts or commerce. I'm a part of marketing, debating, singing SOC and NSS. Marketing is rather new SOC in my college, but it has come out as one of the best and debating has an English plus Hindi wing, it is one of the reputed societies in the debating circuit. Evening's NSS has flourished and conducted several inter college events. It has brought out so many opportunities for the members. There is a Finance SOC, economics SOC, drama SOC, etc. With society come so many opportunities.
