An honest review on IIT Bhilai

Overall Rating
Being in IIT is a positive side always. You get better facilities than other colleges and better quality of education than other colleges. Also being a new IIT the infrastructure is top notch, located in a peaceful area of Durg Bhilai. IIT Bhilai is a good place to study.
 

Academics Rating
I have enrolled in Material Science and Metallurgical Engineering which was only option I had in JOSSA counseling corresponding to my rank. You need to qualify JEE Mains and Advanced to get into an IIT. This program offers a wide variety of courses which also includes inter discipline course for students to opt so it is a win situation for students.
 

Faculty Rating
All of the faculties here in IIT Bhilai are Ph.D holders for either an IIT or other reputed college, my department has some good professors and also our college director is also our department faculty member. They design courses keeping in mind the requirements of industries.
 

Placement Rating
We have CCPS, Center for Currier Planning and Services here at IIT Bhilai which helps eligible students to get internships and jobs or even help them to go for further studies.
 

Hostel Rating
IIT Bhilai is a residential college so we have hostels here, hostels are new and we have air conditioning also in our hostels as heat in Chhattisgarh is way too much. as a new IIT we have top notch infrastructure with everything built new, we have many recreational activities like music room, TT tables, badminton court, etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
IIT Bhilai has a state of the art newly built academic blocks. These are divided into 3 parts, the main lecture hall area, science departments and engineering departments have their separate buildings. Also we have a massive library and data center which is a key building of IIT Bhilai.
 

Campus Rating
Campus Life is good here at IIT Bhilai; we have many things to do other than academics. There are around 1200 students in total in IIT Bhilai so it's not that crowded, we also have 2 fests, firstly Chao for freshers and second Miraz (techno cultural fest). We have all types of clubs here like singing, drawing, dancing, drama, robotics, space exploration, and more. you name it and we have it.

    I chose IIT Bhilai because my rank in JEE Advance. One of the other reasons why I chose this institute was because of one of my parent’s friend's son studying there. I could have gotten CSE in some of the good NITs but the IIT tag seemed very promising so I went for it. My experience over here has been average.     Frankly speaking, I aimed at clearing JEE ADV and nothing much, so it was never my thought to get into IIT Bhilai. In fact, I was a bit depressed when I unexpectedly got into it, in the 6th round of my counselling(mine was the closing rank of that year) or I would have been writing a review on IIT Indore by now. Cool! But now I feel IIT Bhilai CS is a better one for me as CS has lot of interesting things to get into and I can't regret this decision because it's the only one for me.... Read Full Review

    Study in IIT is one of the dreams for every student either of JEE or graduate as IIT provides not only better instrument facilities but also an environment where the future of India studies. I was getting all third generation and 2-3 second generation IIT through IIT JAM but I choose IIT Bhilai over others due to my senior’s advice and its overall faculties and facilities....   • IIT Bhilai: Fee Structure, Scholarships, and Opportunities

    When I joined the institute, it had temporary campus with only 30 acres of land. It was a small campus but it was beautiful. It had all the facilities, which an IIT should have. I chose this institute through my JEE Advanced rank. It was a small institute with limited number of teachers and students so here connections/bond could be made with almost all the people residing in the campus.... Read Full Review
