Himachal Pradesh National Law University eligibility criteria for UG is 45% in 12th and CLAT score

Himachal Pradesh National Law University Shimla is one of the 27 National Law Universities founded throughout the country to provide competent legal education to Law Students in India. The overall experience of HPNLU Shimla is good with Faculty and Academics being excellent in terms of imparting the knowledge along with dissemination of legal values. The university is located near Shimla- Mandi highway at a very serene and beautiful locality. I choose HPNLU because it matched with my interests of learning law at a premier institution along with allied interests of learning and exploring.

The University has an excellent academic program that nurtures the budding law students with their requirements needed throughout their course duration. It offers B.A.LL.B (Hons.) and BBA.LL.B (Hons.) programs at Undergraduate level along with LL.M course. The admissions to UG program are accepted through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Minimum eligibility is 45% in 12th examination.

Faculty is well qualified and experienced. Many professors have experience of 10+ years providing innovative teaching methods to impart legal education to the students here. Research and various centers form a part of academia here that provides a great opportunity to develop specific interests in spheres of law. Many professors are UGC NET qualified along with holding doctoral and post graduate degree from reputed institutions.

Hostels are pretty decent with Boys’ hostel being equipped with triple sharing and quartet rooms. The hostel has attached washrooms with geyser, fan, and light. The rooms are non-AC as there is no need for AC in the chilly weather of Shimla.

The college has its own Academic, Administrative, and Hostel Building (except for boys). All the buildings are equipped with state of art infrastructure and modern amenities. The classrooms are well maintained and E-resources are available too. The college library is well maintained and a lot of resources are available for students. The college has a Wi-Fi enable campus too.

Overall campus crowd is pretty decent and competitive along with the students coming from different ethno-religious and social background bringing diversity in the college life. Fests are held on different occasions along with Mooting activities. There are various clubs that serves in good interests of students. The college is already situated in a peaceful location bringing no chaos to anything.
