All About the Sri Venkateswara College

Overall Rating
As one of the best colleges under the University of Delhi, SVC definitely lives up to its name. It is located in a good area, just next to the metro station and the Satya Niketan Market. The ease of travel as well as the reputation of this college are some factors that led me to choose SVC.
 

Academics Rating
SVC has an excellent faculty. I can vouch only on the Humanities departments, as I had some close associations with them. The structure of the syllabus has undergone changes in the past years making it more relevant for the current generation. You must clear CUET and satisfy the basic eligibility criteria to take admission. If you are someone who enjoys intellectual discussion and reading, you will enjoy this course.
 

Faculty Rating
The professors are great. The older teachers are rightfully a bit stricter regarding the academics, but are a delight to talk to even outside of classes. You can talk to any professor from your department without hesitation in case of clearing doubts. I have had some of the best discussions about my academic life with them.
 

Placement Rating
We do have a placement cell, which works actively throughout the year. At the end of the second and third year, one may sit for placements. Internships are offered on the class groups frequently. In case of any confusion, the members of the cell are always willing to help. Quite a few of my batch mates were placed in decent companies with a good pay.
 

Hostel Rating
There is a hostel for both girls and boys on the campus. The wardens are decent and understandably helpful when needed. Meals, laundry and basic furnishings are provided. The hostels are at a proximity to the college. A perk is special celebrations are held for festivals. One is allotted a room based on their academics. To my knowledge, there is only one seat for each gender, in every course.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are sturdy benches and projectors in every classroom. Some have even got air conditioners, but it is mainly in the Science building. There are well maintained computer and scientific labs. Cameras are setup across the campus, ensuring the safety of students. The canteen is truly great. Food is served hot and fresh. The administrative authorities are helpful too. However, they can be a bit slow to respond in some cases.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is arguably the best part of this college after academics. The societies in SVC are among the best in the entire DU Circuit and are very active. There are competitions and events throughout the year, across varies societies and clubs. So there is always something for everyone to do. The annual fest, ‘Nexus’ is bound to be the highlights of one’s college experience. It truly is the best time ever.

    Sri Venkateswara College is a well reputed college of Delhi University. Being a 1st year student, my experience till now has been great in most of the aspects such as academics, extracurricular activities, sports, etc. Having regular seminars makes it even more exciting.     Venky is one of the top colleges of Delhi University and I am very grateful to be studying here. This is a college where you can have a very nice college life along with your studies.     This college is awesome. It is one of the best colleges in South Campus, University of Delhi. The professor is very helpful and friendly. The infrastructure is good. The buildings and gardens are repaired and maintained on a regular basis. The labs are in excellent condition and a lot of equipment is available for use in lab.
