NLU Nagpur hostels are probably the best among all NLUs

Considering it’s a new national law university, it’s performing better than its peers which were established in a similar time frame. The university maintains a healthy ratio of boys and girls and has a gender sensitization committee with an aim to eliminate discrimination among genders and different socio-economic backgrounds. My experience is quite mixed for MNLUN. While I feel the need for the inclusion of a more diverse crowd, there's still an abundant crowd from the rest of India.

I’m pursuing a B.A.LL.B (Hons.) from Maharashtra National Law University Nagpur and the syllabus is comparatively tougher than what I've observed with my friends from other NLUs. The best thing about academics in our university is that the exams are application based and rather than cramming things, students are encouraged to apply legal principles to case studies and create probable solutions to legal problems that arise.

The faculty in some subjects is very engaging and makes the concept seem easily understandable. There's an abundance of distinguished faculties that are supportive of project consultations, ensuring that students are not just creating projects for the sake of getting marks, but also creating a piece that is worth publishing. There is a strict plagiarism policy which helps maintain academic integrity. Personally, paying attention in lectures is more than enough to cover the syllabus however going through the compulsory, suggested reading is a sure-shot way to boost one's academic insight.

Yes, we have a recruitment coordination committee which conducts sessions once in a while with our limited alumni (it's a new university with only a few passed-out batches) there are various other sessions conducted where renowned legal personalities come and help students to get better equipped for professional life.

The hostels are probably the best among all NLUs. Every room is equipped with an air conditioner. we get laundry stands, a godrej almirah, a godrej desk, a bed and a comfortable chair. It is to be noted that first years stay off campus and only 2nd-5th year students are staying on campus.

The university's phase 1 of development is almost done. The infrastructure is top-notch, the classes are completely modernized and the buildings are equipped with soundproofing, disaster management tools and fire/smoke alarms. The campus is quite big for a law school and there's a ground for cricket and football. There are common rooms available in hostels for students who might want to play table tennis or badminton. There are separate faculty chambers where project consultation is done. There is a canteen available for students who might want to grab a quick bite between class breaks.

There are multiple committees which support students in their daily activities. Cultural committee ensures to organise fests throughout the academic year. There are various events about law occurring throughout the academic year from relevant committees and societies which makes this remote campus life bearable. Festivals are celebrated with zeal and sometimes a special menu is served by the hostel and hospitality committee.
