My Point Of View About IIT Patna

Overall Rating
My experience of IIT Patna has been great so far. Here we get world class faculties and infrastructures, most importantly the IIT community, i.e. being around the best minds of the nation. For my JEE advanced rank this was the college I was getting Computer Science in, so I took this college for my studies. Besides that IIT Patna has one of the best placement stats among the younger IITs.
 

Academics Rating
I always had an interest in the world of technology in computers, so obviously when the opportunity to study CSE in an IIT popped up, I took it with both hands. Our courses are to the point and designed while keeping in mind the relevant skills in today's tech world. The only drawback is that after all these years of revolution in education we still got to study all the common subjects in our 1st year of B.Tech. There are two exams in each semester with frequent quizzes in between.
 

Faculty Rating
As mentioned earlier, IIT Patna has a set of world-class faculties. Each one is better than the previous one. Almost all faculties have an ongoing heavily funded project under them. Most of the faculty has done the Ph.D from foreign universities. We have interactive classes in which we have the freedom to approach the teachers with any subject or research matter.
 

Placement Rating
IIT Patna has its own TPC (Training and Placement Cell), which is entitled with the duty of internship and placement of B.Tech students. TPC consists of hard working students and many staffs who have a lot of experience in the hiring processes. Past record of the cell has been wonderful. The medium package of CSE department is 35 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
We have many hostels for the students to stay at our campus, namely, Kalam, Aryabhatt, CV Raman, Asima and married hostels. Each hostel has its own mess. Infrastructure of hostels are great too, we have common rooms with table tennis, carom and gym inside Kalam and Asima hostel. We have 24x7 electricity, water supply, internet and all other basic amenities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
IIT Patna, spanning 501 acres, is located in Bihta, Bihar, in approx 30 km west of Patna. The campus is fully operational since 2015. It features a central administrative building, smart classrooms, and specialized engineering blocks. The Department of Computer Science focuses on areas like Communications, Signal Processing, and VLSI. Comfortable hostels and proximity to daily necessities enhance student life.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is decent. Many of the clubs have their regular sessions which keep students out of their hostel rooms. Our new library is majestic both in terms of building and the collection of books and articles. The whole academic area is technologically equipped at its best. There is about a dozen of fest in the college throughout the year. Each wing of the student council has its major fest while there are numerous small-scale fests as well. There are many student clubs like NJack, Syahi, etc. and the sports facilities are decent and well-maintained.

    Overall, IIT Patna is a great institute with amazing placement statistics and internships stats. The institute has state of the art infrastructure in Bihar.     Firstly, talking about academics, yes, here at IIT Patna academics is tough. Academic curriculum is designed such that an average IITian can cope up with it. Professors are very good, helpful and highly qualified and have gone through a very rigorous selection process for being a faculty here. College life is pretty good.     According to me, I have a decent experience at IIT Patna, from highs to lows in a small span. The activities are sometime seems to be exaggerated but on the other hand, many times it is a fun. The lab reports firstly were headache but now it's interesting to make them and do practical. I have now experienced how exams are conducted at IIT.
