Mar Athanasius College of Engineering admissions based on KEAM entrance exam

This college is listed among the top 10 engineering colleges in Kerala. Since it is a govt-aided college the fees are also affordable. To say about the campus, it is very environmentally friendly, with lots of trees and greenery. The arts clubs in the college including dance, and music were the best ones. Also, technical clubs like IEEE, SAE, etc are some of the best ones under KTU. The library facilities are also really good.

Admission to the college is based on the KEAM entrance exam. The student should have a decent rank in the entrance exam and should have a 50% mark in plus two exams. The college follows the KTU syllabus, and semester exams are conducted by KTU. The college handles the internal exams. The library facilities are good, offering a lot of reference books. The college also has very good lab facilities and lab staff.

The faculty here is experienced and many teachers have Ph.D. They are helpful and clear doubts well, making learning efficient. In a batch, there are around 60 students and one teacher is assigned as their faculty advisor. There are also experienced lab staffs that assist students in the lab. During the final year, every student has to do a seminar and a group project and submit the reports along with a presentation. Students are assigned with teachers as the guides for this seminar and projects, and the teachers would be specialized in that particular area of research.

The college has good placement opportunities. Companies like TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Qburst, L&T, MRF, and South Indian Bank come here for placement. Students with decent CGPA and no backlogs get placements. Placements opportunities are greater for IT students compared with branches like Civil, Mech., etc. Also, the placed students have to pay a fee to the placement cell based on their salary package.

There are hostel facilities for both girls and boys. Considering the case of the girl's hostel, it is difficult to get admission in the first year but can get a hostel in upcoming years. The hostel fee is around 5000 per month including food and accommodation. The girl's hostel is inside the campus, which makes it easier for the students to come to the college. Caution deposit has to be paid at the time of admission, which will be refunded when you vacate.

The campus spans around 62 acres of land, with five major blocks with well-equipped classrooms. There are also well-equipped labs and workshops for every department. IOT lab and FAB Lab are two new additions to the lab facilities. There is a central library with lots of books for reference and a calm atmosphere for studying. There is an Open Air Auditorium for conducting events during fests, celebrations, etc. There are also air-conditioned seminar halls for conducting formal events. Good hostel and canteen facilities are available for students in the campus.

The campus is beautiful and environmentally friendly with lots of greenery and trees. Since it's in a hilly area, there is a lot of walking between buildings, it can be tiring but it's good for staying fit. There are plenty of places to relax like NSS Park, Civil Corner, Mech Corner, and OAT. The canteen, OOTTUPURA has good and affordable food which is a big plus. The sports facilities are great too, the ground for basketball, football, cricket and more. The arts clubs like dance and music are active. Technical clubs like IEEE, SAE, and ASCE are some of the best under KTU and offer great opportunities and exposure. The hostel facilities for both boys and girls are good and affordable.
