Kurukshetra University BA+LLB Review By Pearl Tandon

Kurukshetra University was established in 1956 as a state university in Haryana. It is the oldest and most prestigious university in the state. It offers 175 courses in 47 departments in both undergraduate and postgraduate specialization. As a law student from Kurukshetra University, I have a first-hand experience with the infrastructure and facilities it offers. Recently, this university has been awarded with 'A++' grade by NAAC.

Institute of Law Kurukshetra University provides 5-year integrated course B.A.LL.B (Hons.) or 3-year law program and postgraduate courses LL.M, and PhD. To get the enrollment in this college, a candidate must clear the entrance exam. After clearing the exam you will then be admitted to this college. The University will be offering more courses through digital mediums in the coming days.

The law faculty provides well educated, qualified, and intellectual professors, lawyers, and practicing advocates in Punjab and Haryana High Court. The classrooms are well furnished and equipped with modern facilities for the students. In the past years, many students of Kurukshetra University cracked the Haryana Judiciary exam and previously 10 students from Kurukshetra University cleared the judiciary exam.

Yes, there is a placement cell in Kurukshetra University that takes care of placements. The Center for Training, Internships and Employment works with the guidance and facilitation of university students for training, internships and placements through departments and institutes. They organize campus placement drives and career counseling for the students. The Centre arranges and coordinates the campus visits of industry experts/professionals for various departments and institutes. Students are also provided with opportunities to visit industry and corporate organizations.

The University provides residential facilities for students or foreign students. Currently, there are 13 hostels for female students and 12 hostels for male students. The hostels are well-organized and equipped with all the modern facilities with 24/7 water and electricity, separate mess, 24-hour security, and medical facilities. The accommodation price for hostels is also low and good.

The college infrastructure is very good and provides great facilities. The college infrastructure is quite developed with the various facilities. The JNL library provides adequate facilities for the readers and the electricity supply is readily supported by a generator set supply. The University consists of a Central Library and branch or departmental libraries. The University Health Centre looks after the medical needs of students, staff, and their families.

The campus life is quite peaceful and vibrant. Foreign students are also enrolled in the Kurukshetra University. Moreover, there are various student organizations and societies to foster the students such as the moot court committee, Pro Bono Club, etc. Every year students get to experience many cultural events such as Ratnawali and other cultural events. The environment is very inclusive which creates opportunities for the students to develop network.
