Honest Review on Thapar University

Overall Rating
Thapar University, Patiala has a very good reputation overall. I personally liked it very much. The infrastructure is also very modern and good. The campus is also really beautiful. But, the student intake is a lot, so sometimes you can feel a bit crowded. Other than that it is a good college for engineering.
 

Academics Rating
There are many courses here that includes Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics and AI, Mechanical ,Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, AI ML, etc. But, people generally choose computer streams. The admissions takes place through online counselling based on the result of JEE mains or boards. But giving JEE Mains is necessary to take admission. My stream is Robotics and AI. I chose this branch because I had interest in robotics and this course specializes in AI.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties here are very experienced in their respective fields. They are always doing research works along with students. They also help you to make projects and win hackathons. Some of the best faculties of the country can be found here. They are experts in their respective fields. All of the faculties are PhD holders.
 

Placement Rating
The average package of Thapar University is 12 LPA and median is 10 LPA. You can grab about 20 LPA if you are very good at what you do. Companies like Jp Morgan, Nvidia, Apple, Google, etc. are some top companies that visit here every year.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostels are very nicely made and are very clean. However, the hostel in-time is 8:30, which is very early. And the mess food is not great either.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus's academics blocks are very well architecture. This college has one of the biggest libraries of the Asia. There is a whole market in there. You can find food at cheap rates here. The college acquires an area of around 300 acres land.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is also very good. Every other day there is a function or a party. Many big celebrities regularly come here. The biggest fest of Thapar is Saturnalia, which happens around October. There are many societies, which you can join based on your interests like tech, culture, dancing, entrepreneurship, etc. Lastly, I would say that it is a good college to study.

    Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is a top ranked college with a huge infrastructure. It is one of the best Engineering colleges in India. The placement rate is above 85%.     My overall experience in Thapar University was quite wholesome and quite new for me in the beginning. I've loved almost everything about the college; waking up early to get breakfast and going to the library to study (Nava Nalanda Library) or going for a walk on skywalk, I have liked everything here....     The overall college experience has gone really good till now. I am in the first year and I have really enjoyed each and every small moment that has occurred to me. Our curriculum is well structured and designed as per the current industry basis.     My overall experience with this institute is quite good. Thapar University is prestigious institute that was established in 1956. It has a strong alumini network. Admission process is through JEE mains and boards percentage. There is no interview before admission. As it is a private college it has a high fee.
