Govt. Model Engineering College B.Tech Review By Naveen Joseph

I have opted B.Tech degree in Electronics VLSI Design and Technology. Here Computer Science and EC are the primitive one. This college is owned by government and IHRD. So unlike other government colleges uniforms are compulsory.

This college has a good academic feedback. The curriculum provides a well balance between theoretical study and practical applications. The students get admission in this college on the basis of their KEAM rank. The average cutoff rank of this college is 8000-10000. This college offers different B.Tech courses like Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics Engineering VLSI Design and Technology. Almost every course has a good placement history.

I have pursued B.Tech degree in Electronics Engineering VLSI Design and Technology. The faculty in charges of our course is good in teaching in my opinion. That is also same for the other courses too. All the faculties are well qualified and experienced on their fields. Some of the teachers are strict but others are like our friends. There are many temporary faculties. But the fact is that some of them are better in teaching than the permanent teachers.

The college is popular for its placements. The average package is 12 LPA. The highest package is 52 LPA in this year. This college has an active placement. It is controlled by the senior students of this college. It is located in the place where a number of technical parks and hubs are located. It is also a main reason behind these placements.

The college only provides hostel facilities for only boys. The boy’s hostel is located inside the college compound. The hostel life is good. The food provided is very good compared to the other hostels. A gym is located inside the hostel. I feel it is much worthy than other hostels.

This college lacks a good infrastructure. It is the main drawback of this college. The college is very small compared to other colleges. In that small space there are required facilities like PCB lab, ground, internal auditorium, external auditorium, Kasa (small space for recreation), canteen, other labs required for each courses, etc. Because of small area of the college, students of different courses know each other.

My campus life in this college is average. The college has a poor infrastructure. Seniors are very friendly to us. Excel is the annual festival conducted by this college. It is conducted for two days. All programs are conducted under the supervision of senior students of this college. There is also annually conducted arts and sports fest. There are also plenty of clubs working actively in this college. All clubs are controlled and coordinated by the students.
