Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce B.Com Review By Vineet Singh

The overall experience of the college is good. I joined this college last year in August, and from then, till now, I don't regret even a minute being here. SGGSCC Delhi campus is well developed and students are amazing too. Not to forget, our fresher's party was on point and our seniors led their helpful hands towards us in initial days. There are numerous societies to join and countless opportunities to opt for. I never regretted joining this college, you'll not too.

I am enrolled in the Bachelor's of Commerce (B.Com.) course of the college, which was allotted to me through the CSAS Portal as per my marks in CUET. You can expect a cut off of 735 for B.Com (Pass) and 750 for B.Com (Hons.) in CUET for this college. The syllabus here is well in touch with the University's syllabus and also the course curriculum is well structured for carving out the potential of each and every student, that's what I believe.

The faculty here is top notch. Most of the teachers are Ph.D holders in their respective fields, which provides them with great knowledge of their teaching field and improvises the teaching experience here for us students. They are kind and well behaved in the class, as well as outside the class walls, they are always willing to help and clear your doubts. You won't believe some teachers even go to the extent of taking online classes, off the college timings, just to make sure that students are well prepared for their examinations.

I am a member of the Training and Placement Cell of SGGSCC, and trust me when I say the placements here are good. Even being an off campus college, it attracts numerous famous companies and consulting firms like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, PwC, etc. which tend to pull students at an average package of about 6 LPA, where the highest package went at more than 30 LPA last year, when we first joined. The Cell also provides opportunities to the freshers with various internships through its Internship Fiesta, which helps in building industry oriented skills in them, and makes them ready to take on further responsibilities.

The hostel facilities are available only for the outstation girl students. I, myself being an outstation student, was kind of disappointed while hearing this but, the place nearby, Pitampura, has many PGs and Flats in order to accommodate the outstation students. The Hostel facilities, as per the statements from some of my classmates are better than decent. It provides food facilities as well as CCTV surveillance and Security Guard being 24x7 at the entrance which ensures their safety to the fullest. Not to mention that the Hostel lies within the premises of the college this adds up to the college’s connection and concern towards its students. A boy’s hostel might be seen in a few years from now.

The infrastructure is top notch here too. Each and every class has AC facilities and a projector, that adds up to the comfort of learning in the college. Moreover, the college premises have been divided into blocks and have a lot of greenery, which makes the college a great sight. We have a small Gurudwara inside our college too. The library is well maintained, with lots of books within its walls, book issue and return can be done by you through the ID Card provided. The sports facilities are also good. I am in the volleyball team of my college, and apart from this, we have a tennis lawn, football court, basketball court and a famous Cricket Ground too. The college canteen is also present with a lot of food options available, including the famous Rajma Chawal. Apart from this, a CCD is also present inside the college premises.

The campus life here is just as good. I know, being far from the north campus can be a sad feeling at first, but you won't regret coming here as the college crowd is just a cut above! The college clubs and societies are very engaging and demanding which makes you all involved throughout the day. We even have an Annual College Fest every year and this year Maninder Bhuttar and The Landers came in the fest. The campus life here, I'd say, is 9/10.
