College review on Government Medical College

Overall Rating
My overall experience in this college is good. I have chosen this college as it was near to my home. Government Medical College Ratlam is good academic wise. Ambience of the college is good and many facilities are available inside the college campus. There are facilities of sanchi point, a separate canteen, library, gym, and many more.
 

Academics Rating
MBBS is a course of 5.5 year which includes 4.5 years of study and 1 year of internship in the college’s hospital. Admission in the college is through NEET examination and is decided by your rank in the exam. You need certain documents at the time of counseling which are verified by the college authorities after which you get admission.
 

Faculty Rating
There are sufficient numbers of faculties in all the departments who come from different medical colleges all over the country. They reside in the college campus in separate buildings. All the teachers have a lot of knowledge and their teaching skills are very different and understandable. All faculties have different teaching styles which is good.
 

Placement Rating
After completion of 4.5 years of academic studies, we have to complete internship for one year for which we have to go to hospital which is present in the college campus itself and for one month we are posted in nearby health centers which is 15-20 km away from the college in a nearby village.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel facilities are also available in the college. We are given a single seater room with furniture including a bed, an almirah, a chair and a table. Outside the hostel we have facility of parking as well. A mess is present in the hostel building.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the college is good. It includes the college building, hospital, library, gym, guest house, badminton court, basketball court, boys and girl’s hostel, faculty buildings, Mandir, and more. The structure of the college is very beautiful and it is made in a very large area and we really don’t have to go outside for buying everything as sanchi point and Amul point is present in the college campus.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life of the college is good and interesting with your friends. We have many facilities inside the college campus. The major drawback is just that very less cultural activities are organised in the college because of which the hostel life feels a little boring. In the period of 5 years fests were organised only twice as compared to other colleges.

    GMC Ratlam is a well built college and the main reason for me to choose this was its proximity to my hometown. The college infrastructure is amazing and has all facilities such as lecture halls, labs, simulation skills, 750 bed hospital, OPD, IPD services, OT, etc. There are hostel present for boys, girls, nurses, residents as well as faculty quarters also present.     I always wanted to be in a government medical college and I got it in 2020. I got this college through the counselling process. I would recommend others because academics are very good and the infrastructure is fantastic. The faculties are very helpful and good. We have hostels in the campus itself.... Read Full Review
