My college NIT Silchar is situated on the outskirts of Silchar town. The location of the college makes it very peaceful and the campus is full of greenery. It has a wonderful campus of 711 acres which is equipped with galleries for class, parks, sports area, guest house, auditoriums, canteen, mandir, gym, library, lakes, etc. The academics are strict and disciplined. The placement is also amazing. Different clubs, societies, and student unions make the college very active.

Students are admitted to the college through JEE Mains. The college provides well-disciplined and structured courses for the students for every subject. Domains are allotted according to the ranks of JEE Mains. The academic section is headed by Dean Academics. They receive the process and manage all the academic-related programs and examinations.

The faculties are well-experienced and well-educated in their fields of teaching. They are genuinely supportive of students regarding academic doubts courses. Regular and disciplined class routines are followed both by teachers and students. Teachers are also very helpful regarding other doubts and help in projects and patents. During the time of the examination, extra classes are also arranged for any further doubts.

Yes, We have a Training and Placement Cell in our college that delicately manages the placement system of the students. As mentioned the cell provides training and internships to the students which is very helpful for the students to get exposure to the placement process and practice for the interviews.

Yes, we have hostel facilities in NIT Silchar. There are separate hostels for boys, girls, PG students, and other divisions. The college has 8 boys’ hostel and 4 girls’ hostel. The hostels have the capacity of over 10000 student accommodation. The rooms of the hostel are spacious and in good condition. The mess facility is also good. New hostels are also constructing which will help with accommodation in the future. The hostels are well equipped with lighting and electricity. Personal canteens are also present in the hostel. The atmosphere contains greenery and a positive environment.

The infrastructure of NIT Silchar is amazing. The admin building is the main center of the activities and meetings. The building has a separate section for the academic student welfare. The regular classes occur in galleries that have spacious seating arrangements. Well-furnished labs are also spacious. The college has the largest library in north east India with over 10 thousand books and easily accessible.

I am currently in my third year of college and these 2 years have been very great in the college. The environment of the college is positive irrespective of any fuss. The basic requirements of the students are fulfilled. The student council is always active and supportive of students in case of emergency. The clubs and societies such as E-Cell, photography, ILLUMINATES, Gyansaagar, NSS, NCC, etc. play an important role in the development of the students in all phases.
