Review on North Eastern Hill University

Overall Rating
The good thing about North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong is that it's a Central Government funded university and the fees are very less as compared to other universities. I am pursuing B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering which I got through JOSSA counselling by clearing the JEE Mains. After getting the stream, I was excited about the rare field of engineering. Now I am in 3rd year and I am very happy to enter this course as I can get more opportunities for future aspects.
 

Academics Rating
Biomedical Engineering is a combination of Biology and Engineering and it's a new field of engineering. If your biology is strong and you want to pursue engineering you should definitely go for this course. It requires Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics knowledge. Nowadays, Biomedical Engineering is a very growing and advanced field in engineering.
 

Faculty Rating
The most of the faculties are graduated from IITs and NITs and they are so knowledgeable and also help us in every problem. There is smart class facility available in every classroom for separate semester students. Every faculty has their own field of research, so you can get different options here.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell of NEHU Shillong provides internship opportunities during our summer and winter breaks. They also invite some companies for the placement of final year students. They also organise webinars and workshops for the students.
 

Hostel Rating
In the NEHU, Shillong there are like 30 hostels including UG, PG and Research Scholars. The hostel rooms are very big with the capacity of three students in each room. Water and electricity is available 95% of the time. And the hostel fees are also very less and it renewal once in a year. Other facility like food is also good. You can get a good experience and study environment in the hostel. The ragging is strictly banned in every hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic buildings are very big, as there are nearly 25 departments in our university, so it's not easy to handle. There are also securities in every building. The Central Library is also very big where you can find very old books and other reading materials. An e-library facility is also there. IGNOU University is also there and specific research buildings are also available.
 

Campus Rating
The university is located at a great place in Shillong with fresh weather and clean environment. The campus area is about 1225 acres. You can get sports facilities as SAI, Shillong is in our campus only. The roads have pine trees by their side and the mountains are seen like they have covered the campus. You can enjoy the extreme beauty of nature and there is also a natural waterfall inside our campus.

    It is located in Shillong, Meghalaya. Most beautiful and soothing place for students. The place is full of greenery. The main campus is huge, silent and best for study. Best place for students who love nature. The campus includes many guest houses where they provide residential facilities in very affordable amount.     The North-Eastern Hill University is a central university. The fees structure of this university is lower than other universities. There are many departments here that provide courses including PG (Arts, Science and Commerce), UG (B.Tech and B.A LLB) and Ph.D. Our university provides internet facility and there are many canteens inside the campus.
