LPU BBA Review By Khushboo Jangid

Lovely Professional University is one of the best private universities in Punjab (India). It is located in the outskirts of Jalandhar city. This college is famous for the variety of courses that it offers. It is specifically known for its B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D curriculum. And there are thousands of people that take admission every year. This college also has a huge diversity of students both from National and International background. Over the years LPU has achieved certain accreditations like NAAC ++, UGC, NBA, etc. This college is the best place if you want to start your Entrepreneurship Journey or have a startup funding. My overall experience has been really amazing as being a student of this college it’s really great to see the growth that I have attained through these years, whether it’s academic or extracurricular. The key feature of this college is that it provides platform for students whether you want to achieve something at national or international level. It also has a very strict academic rules that binds everyone altogether to facilitate a smooth functioning of this university. My personal reason of choosing this college was because of its well built academic curriculum & the kind of opportunity that it provides to students to excel in all other domains apart from academics. I would highly recommend students to go for LPU because of the reasons mentioned ahead: If you want to grab opportunities for your career, If you are someone who believe in competitive success, If you have an idea for your startup to pitch & you want investors to invest, If you have a research idea you want to work at or get your research paper being published and If you want to learn from industry experts & gain exceptional skills for your career. Overall I would say if you are someone who is willing to do something in your life then it is the best place for you chose for.

I have opted for BBA (Bachelor of Business administration) because I wanted to have an absolute understanding of how businesses works, what skills does industry specialists need in this ever dynamic business world. The entry requirements for this course are that you must have 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent, must have gone through their own institution exam called LPUNEST. And if you have attained good marks you will be granted scholarship based on the merit list. There is also a 5% relaxation provision for North -Eastern states, Sikkim candidates, Defense personal and their dependents, and wards of Kashmir migrants. My motive behind enrolling in this course was because I wanted to engage with industrial experts, know how entrepreneurship works & LPU was the best place for those all. One more thing which I would like to include is that this college also provides an opportunity for student exchange program as it has many tie-ups with International colleges, along with that it also has a huge diversity of international students coming to LPU for an exchange program. One of the reasons you come to LPU is because it offers a wide diversity of networking with different kind of people with varied domains.

The faculty in our college is great, highly qualified & knowledgeable. Not everyone is good but yeah many of them really have a good command over the subjects they teach. There are many teachers who have studied at one of the best colleges of India or Abroad even. Some are even highly qualified researchers, who are working on their research papers along with teaching students. All the teachers of LPU try to help students in every possible way, guide them & ask if they need any help. But at the same time there are some teachers, who don't have experience and to be taught by them means you have to study alone & you can't depend on them that they will teach you with entire depth of a particular subject. Doubt solving is also a major issue sometimes as many of the teachers have back to back classes & you don't really get time as of when to ask your doubts. But overall, my experience with the teachers was good.

Yes, our college does have placement cell & it really helps students to get an internship or placement. But, particularly for B.Tech (CSE) you will find majority of the best placements. With BBA or MBA there are not much placements I have heard of yet. For CSE students you will find that many of the top recruiting companies come to offer a better package to students like Capgemini, Cognizant, Amazon, Flipkart, IBM etc. However, the placement team or coordinators put their best efforts to bring out more & better companies. The aim of LPU has always been to get their students placed, however sometimes market drop can lead to decrease in the number of companies that come to campus to offer placement. Moreover, a student has to go through a strict process for a company he/she desires to get placed in & meet certain eligibility criteria to be qualified for that company. Overall, if a student is willing to put efforts he /she can definitely crack a good placement with higher package.

Yes, LPU has hostel, apartment and residential facilities separately for boys & girls. It offers A/c, Non -A/C, single seater, two seater, three seater, four seaters, etc. I have had a personal experience with living in hostels. We also have specific & strict rules like after 7 or 8 in night girls can't go out of their hostels whereas with boys it's not the same case. We also have specific mess and canteen facilities in our hostels. There are lot of hostels in LPU. The quality of food is also good. There are also certain kinds of recreational activities like hostel competitions, seminars, festival celebrations, mental health sessions, and charity programs that are conducted in each and every hostel. So, overall if you are someone who is disciplined you will surely like the atmosphere.

Lovely is known for its wide & huge infrastructure that is spread over 600 acres. It has a big library, well conditioned classrooms, laboratories, auditorium, playground, swimming pools, hospital, shopping mall, etc. Every branch has its own academic block along with their department libraries. The building of each department has 8-9 floors with well maintained chambers for teachers, HOD’s, HOS, conference rooms, discussion rooms for students and technical maintenance offices. Every major conference is held at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium which is the central conference hall of the university. LPU also has huge gardens & walking zones.

Lovely Professional University has a lot of clubs, fests and other student-teacher engagement activities that are being held side by side along with academic activities. You certainly cannot particularly tell of how many activities go on in our campus on a daily basis. There is a particular block for this even known as Student of Welfare wing. There are lots of students who participate, are members. co-founders of certain clubs & organizations. If you are from LPU you would surely find many opportunities to interact & build your connects with great people. One thing about LPU is that it not only hosts such activities for students, but also for its faculty members and their family. Overall, if you are a LPU student don't miss up such opportunities.
