This college is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious colleges of the Delhi University. It was established in 1926 by an industrialist named Sir Lala Shri Ram. Several renowned personalities of India have passed out of this college. Lt. Shree Arun Jaitley who was the former Finance Minister of India, Rajat Sharma who is one of the most popular TV journalists in India, etc. belong to the alumni list of this prestigious institution. Located in the North Campus, this college houses students coming from all parts of India. The academic excellence of SRCC is unparalleled, with one of the best faculty available in the field of Commerce and Economics in India.

SRCC offers only two courses, B.Com (Hons.) and B.A. Economics (Hons). It is one of the most coveted colleges among students looking to pursue their career in Commerce or Economics. Therefore, the cut-off is usually very high. To get admission, candidates have to appear for the CUET exam held every year and do exceptionally well. It is the competitive nature of this college that places you among the most talented and well-read students from all across the country. So, if you are someone looking forward to being a part of SRCC, you better be ready for some laborious study hours.

SRCC has a pretty good faculty. The teachers are extremely helpful and understanding. Having dealt with the issues concerning students for a very long time, they know the student’s psychology and offers genuine support to those in need. The teachers are also very well-read and they know their stuff. They have an acute understanding of their subjects and if you just try to pay attention to what they say, you will have great time learning.

There is a Placement Cell in this college and it helps students from the very beginning. From preparing a resume to appearing for an interview, the Placement Cell takes care of everything. It makes sure that the credibility of the college remains intact year after year and that the students get exposure in one of the best companies in the country.

Yes, there are residential facilities available for both boys and girls. However, it is only available for the students who do not live in the Delhi-NCR region. For students who fall in this region, they can go for PGs if they wish to stay near the campus. Needless to say, the hostel life is pretty amazing. I did not get a chance to experience the hostel life but from what I have heard through my friends, I guess you will make a lifetime of memories. There has been one complaint that I have come across from students living in this college hostel and it was regarding the food quality. So, I would like to stay away from commenting on that, but everything else is all good.

The infrastructure of this college is a robust one. It is the best if we compare it to other DU colleges. AC facilities are available in every classroom and the canteen food is not so bad. The library is the highlight of SRCC, but the most amazing part would be the sports complex. It looks wonderful and feels very elite.

The crowd of SRCC is diversified. There are students from all across India, coming from different backgrounds and different cultures. SRCC holds one of the most popular fests in the Delhi University called Crossroads. Other seasonal fests are good as well. A lot of engaging activities and societies are there to teach students about the skills needed in the outside world and about life in general.
