Days in Tezpur University

Overall Rating
The college infrastructure is decent. It is a University so there are students also from other discipline apart from engineering which create diversity. It is a Central University, and also one of the best Universities in North East India. The environment is very beautiful with trees all around. There is hardly any influence of politics among students.
 

Academics Rating
In order to peruse B.Tech in this University one must qualify JEE with required percentile which varies from year to year then students may apply through JOSSA counseling to enter in this college or for North East Indian students Tezpur University conducts a special counseling. The students urging to enroll in B.Tech may opt by visiting its official website.
 

Faculty Rating
During my 2 semesters I experienced that the faculties here are highly qualified. Many of them obtained their education from reputed colleges. The faculty student’s interaction is overall good. Students do not feel any difficulty in reaching the professors. They also held doubt clearing sessions for the eager students. They also explain well in practical.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, it helps the deserving students to get placements. Last year a student from Mechanical engineering got a package of 20 lakh.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, there are 7 hostels for boys and girls. Each has trees and two are under construction. Around 6000 students live in the campus.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The institute has separate blocks for each discipline. For example there is the school of engineering solely for engineering where academic blocks of Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical and other branches of engineering are situated. Again there is same named as school of science and school of business administration, etc.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is peaceful with occasional rivalry among hostels during sports, where all fourteen hostels compete in various individual and group events. There are big fests like Texetra organized by School of Engineering, Insignis by School of Science, General Freshers, Holi, etc. and much more.

    Tezpur University is among one of top institution of the North East part of India. For B.Tech, it has 6 courses available including CSE, ECE, EE, ME, CE, and FET. My overall experience is very nice since I got admission here. In this University, 60% of total B.Tech seats are reserved for North East students.     This is the Assam's Central University, Tezpur University. I belong to Bihar so it was very tough to survive there but after 2-3 months it was amazing there. Here very affordable courses are available. There is very strict guarding by the police all over the University day and night which makes a safe environment for the students.     Tezpur University is a GFTI situated in the Nappam village of Tezpur. Admissions are done through the JEE Mains and the north-east quota. The reservation percentage is 60% for the north-eastern Indians and 40% for the students not residing in the north-east. This university has good academics, infrastructure, management, etc. There are many courses here; from B.Sc to B.Tech, M.Sc to M.Tech, and B.Com to B.Law.     My overall experience in this university is nice. It was established in 1994 and is a central university following AICTE guidelines. I chose this university over other state government’s colleges because the exposure we get here is very nice as compared to other colleges.     This is one of the best central institutes for someone who wants a good college but isn't able to score very high marks to secure a seat in NIT or IIT. The college boasts a huge campus filled with greenery and natural landscape. The college is situated nearly 9-10 kms from the main town but the availability of vehicles makes it very hassle free.
