My overall experience in ISDI has been nothing less than absolutely fantastic! The campus is to die for. The faculties are so sweet and cooperative, always pushing you to do your best. I personally wanted to study Design from a private institute because of the facilities and co curricular activities that they are having.

So, I pursued Fashion Design. For admission, one has to give the entrance test that will be MCQ based. Then an online interview will be held. The test comprises of logical reasoning, English and basic Math. I was always keen on knowing the technicalities of how garments are made. Hence, I chose this course. If you’re confused between Design and Communication, go for Design as it’ll entail parts of Communication as well, but not the other way around.

There are technical and design mentors. The technical mentors make sure that they stop at every table and check every student’s pattern progress. They are really helpful and are open to discussing any challenging patterns while guiding us throughout the process. There are three lab assistants as well, who are really kind and always eager to help you out. The design mentors are people with high levels of education and are open to listen and give suggestions for all kinds of concepts. They’re the ones who keep pushing you to reach your best potential.

We do have a career department, headed by two people. Campus placements are held once a year. Unfortunately, this year there weren’t many brands that showed up. However, a database of all major brands was sent to us. We have a WhatsApp group where all opportunities are shared very frequently.

There is a new hostel that just got opened earlier this year; the infrastructure of it is so cool. It’s based on the US dormitory style, so I personally didn’t like it. There are 4 students who share a room and common washrooms on every floor. The food is good and the security is at its peak.

There is one building as of now for ISDI and ISME, situated in the Equinox Business Park. The building is surrounded by nature. There are fountains everywhere, with soothing music being played. There is a common canteen called The Spice Corridor, which entails every cuisine. There are three areas where students can go to unwind and chill for a bit. All in all, it’s a really beautiful campus.

Like I said, we have fests going on every other day. There’s project “Tara”, which is a social initiative headed by the 4th year students. Inferno is our annual fest; that is India’s leading design fest, open to all major colleges across the country. The events are so fun. There are also exhibitions that keep happening to support students who own small businesses.
