Gargi College B.Com Review By Kasak Goyal

Gargi College, one of the best colleges of Delhi University. My overall experience till now is very enriching and fulfilling. College life, as we all know is very indispensable part of our life and college is not only about enjoying but also exploring yourselves and learning various new skills. Also a good college plays a huge role in that, it provides us various chances where we can showcase various skills and learn various things. From that point of view, I feel Gargi College really provides me various growth opportunities and moreover, provide me with right knowledge and skills which I need for future career and it really has good crowd, anyone who want to pursue commerce can really look up to this college. I am sure you will end up saying that "it was my best decision". From 2022, NTA is conducting CUET on the basis of different cut offs (different for different category) you will get a chance to study in this college, for Gargi college you require quite decent score obviously it differs for different category people. Last but not least, what make this college best are the opportunities it provides for growth and development of students, academically and personally. I would highly recommend this college if you looking for transformative educational experience.

Gargi College provides various undergraduate courses, I have opted for B.Com and currently, I am a sophomore. From an academic point of view I feel this college provides me with strong basis, both theoretically and practically. So, my main motive behind taking this course was, to manage both my college studies along with my CA because most of the subjects are similar so if you are someone who is preparing for CA, CS or CMA, this course will help you to manage both the things simultaneously. Moreover, I have a keen interest in accountancy and business world, that's why I end up taking this course. After introduction of CUET, any student with even 75% or like (boards), can also get a chance to pursue different undergraduate courses like B.Com, B.Com Hons, etc from this college based on their CUET marks. My marks was 714/800 (general category). Actually, I feel normalization in marks also plays a great role, after that you will able to know your exact marks. If you are someone, who want to have great interest in accountancy, business, taxation etc. Pursuing B.Com or B.Com (Honors) from Gargi College will be worth it based on my experience till now (currently in 4th semester). In every semester, obviously there are different subjects and more of them are totally related to business, laws, taxation, accounts and all things which we face while doing business. So basically, I am happy with my decision to pursue to B.Com from this college.

In my opinion, I feel college consist of both, engaging, flexible approachable and unapproachable, disorganized faculty members. But up to my experience till now, faculties are approachable, organised, and clear with helping nature towards students. Obviously faculties play a great role in holding class attention and making the study material interesting. They are really supportive, offers various resources which can add knowledge among students and make material interesting. Faculties are really very experienced (approximately 10 years or more). Enthusiasm and interest in the subject matter is something which makes the Gargi college faculties the best. Faculties passion for the subject is really great but sometimes, lectures feel but rushed specially during my first semester because it was first time that CUET was held and admissions were quite late that' s when I feel that lectures can be more interesting and clear. But after my 1st semester till now (currently in 4th semester), I feel faculties are pretty nice, supportive and unbiased. One more thing, from 2022 onwards Delhi University along with core subjects provide AEC, SEC (Skill enhancement course), VAC (Value added course) specifically for such courses, college usually hire teachers for specific period which are not that much experienced like core subjects teachers. Sometimes, These teachers are quite unclear may be because in 2022 it was first time such courses were introduced.

Yes, I have joined an internship via placement cell inside the college during my 1st year of the college. My overall experience was good with placement cell. Placement cell is really very supportive and pro active. Really they are actively seeking opportunities for students. Moreover, during our 2nd year internship, a fair was organised by college. Where there were lots of opportunities for college students to participate in various internships that will add value to them. Even the companies are offering various roles as per the interview and CV (resume). There are various opportunities even inside the college for students to do internship in college itself where they have to work with various teachers. TIC and after completion of such internship, they will go to. Provide student certificates etc. So my overall experience with placement cell was absolutely good. Moreover, the highest package was INR 21.5 LPA during 2022 -2023 sessions and the average salary offered during Gargi College Placement 2023 was INR 4.75 LPA.

Our college does not provide residential facilities like other colleges, but some of my friends stay in hostel that is provided by Delhi University itself.

Gargi College infrastructure is really very good, if we compare from other colleges in Delhi university. But if you will compare campus from other colleges like outside the Delhi University like IIM etc. so obviously the infrastructure is not that much good. Specifically if we will talk about Classroom, I feel classroom are quite well maintained specially the lecture theatre and most of the class rooms contains smart class facility for students, benches and everything is pretty nice. But I am disappointed with library, library is well maintained but most of the books are outdated so ultimately it become useless for student to issue book from library I feel proper updated book should be there so that student can proper utilise the library. Cafeteria services are pretty nice, food is Really hygienic moreover, and they provide various options at affordable price for students. Quite disappointed with administrative office, they are not that much updated and does not have a good supportive attitude towards students.

Overall campus life is good. Gargi college consists of many societies which conduct various fests and engagement activities. There are lots of functions that are organised in the college having different themes. Obviously such functions plays a great role for students because along with studies, enjoying college life is also indispensable, these type of fests create memories which last forever. Moreover, mostly festival whether it's Diwali or Holi, Gargi college organises various functions. Themes for events are also pretty nice and quite fascinating that attracts students. But as I have seen in many colleges during fests time, friends from different college of Delhi University are also allowed but in case of Gargi college, fests, function are organised majorly for Gargi students only. Students from different college are not allowed usually. During my first year I had also taken part in various activities during fests like stalls etc. it was really interesting and enjoyable experience for me. So overall my experience was very good. I feel innovative and cultural theme is something which makes there fests absolutely nice. Crowd in Gargi College is absolutely very amazing.
