I've joined this college last August, and it's been a new experience for me as after the lockdown, there are not much places I've been to that's filled with people of similar age and mindset. Many people of similar mindset have connected to me and I've connected to them as well, worked on some projects, and learned stuff and still learning. The faculty is not great but not bad either, there's the old curriculum though, and I’m definitely not into it.

Now, I've not been much to college to give a detailed review, and I'm definitely not going to judge them as they are the teachers and we are the students. But you know, they teach stuff, and if the stuff isn't interesting by itself, like ED, then how come I like the faculty that much, although the CS teachers of Networking or Data Structure are interesting and open minded.

Although I'm not in the hostel itself, but I've heard reviews from my classmates and batch mates and there are mixed opinions. See if you're an extrovert and have been to hostel earlier as well, and are good with people and communicating with them, enjoy having a larger circle around you, and is a Bengali, then you'd definitely enjoy the college life. Now from another person’s perspective, if you're not native (not from West Bengal) but are an outgoing person, you'd still face less difficulties and might learn Bengali on the journey. 3rd perspective, if you're Bengali but kind of an introvert, the hostel would be an okay option, as you'd face issues like noise and unnecessary banters all the time. The food is good though, according to the price.

Hmmm, now this is another interesting topic, so the Narula Institute of Technology is a one building campus, and the other building you see is the parent of NIT, JIS University. Narula Institute of Technology comes under JIS so there are two colleges, two buildings, sharing the same campus, same pool, and same playground.

Now, about the campus life, as I'm not much engaged with the college itself, my opinions would be less oriented here but there are definitely clubs in our college, not much popular, not much populated, but still there are clubs. The most popular one is GDSC (Google Developer Students Club) with over 700 members, from all the years combined, now this might sound a lot, but the sole number of admission last year by combining all the CS and IT department is over 700, now you might have an idea. There are fests in our college as well, like any other colleges you've heard and it's been a great experience attending them. But overall it's not a bad experience in one year.
