MGIT college review 2024

Overall Rating
I joined M.G.I.T. in 2020, in the branch of CSE with the specialization of AI and ML. In the first year all branches have the same set of subjects, with various labs from all departments. From the 6th semester the subjects get more specialized based on its branch. There are various student-led clubs one can join through auditions. The overall experience is good and I would rank this college in the top 15 colleges in Telangana.
 

Academics Rating
Students should get an EAMCET rank of less than 8k to get into CSE (AIML). The curriculum has new core subjects which are useful if one wants to get into the domain of AI. Even though the subjects are new, the syllabus is pretty old and has been there for almost 10 years.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty has good knowledge of the core subjects in CSE but has basic knowledge of the specialised subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. There is a faculty shortage for these emerging technology branches and random teachers are assigned to these subjects irrespective of their subject knowledge. The faculties have at least a masters degree, while some of them have PhDs.
 

Placement Rating
The placements are decent considering the recession and skill availability of students. From the 6th semester one can attend placements. The curriculum prepares you 50% for placements. For acquiring training you have to pay an extra fee, but it is optional.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are 5 blocks, one for each department, while some blocks have more than one department. The college has a cricket, football, basketball ground and a tennis court. It also has a sports room for indoor games like carom, chess, table tennis, etc. The library is well-equipped with textbooks and reference books according to the curriculum.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life if good. There are many opportunities for growth and participation, but only if you want to. The annual fest is conducted every year in March, which is a 3-day event. Workshops are conducted at least twice a year by every department which may help the students get industry ready.

    MGIT is about 30 acres of land and provides with great experience to study. There are good grounds, classrooms, and other facilities. There are fest competitions held every year and good clubs in all aspects are present. But the canteen and library in this college is very small as compared to other colleges.     Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology is an autonomous college and this college has the best experienced faculties. Placements in this college are done and the students are given best packages.     The lush green campus of MGIT is present over 30 acres of landscape which includes 1 large cricket ground, basketball and volley ball courts, and a retreat. It also has lots of parking areas. It is spread over 5 blocks. The calmness and pleasant nature are the main attractions of the campus. The infrastructure is a good reason to choose this campus.
