VIT Bhopal University B.Tech Review By Archita Bajpai

Overall the college is okay since it provides a studious environment and a large number of students for networking but that can also be a drawback since more students means more competition. The facilities provided by the University however, can be improved. The FFCS (Fully Flexible Credit System) is one of the best parts about the university, since it allows you to choose your timetable and professors. This is what made me chose the college, and again, there's the factor of reputation. VIT is a renowned institution.

The program that I'm currently pursuing at the university is B Tech in CSE with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I got enrolled after sitting for VITEEE, VIT's own entrance examination, and going through counseling for the same. In the aspect of academics, the curriculum is designed nicely and is not too difficult. If you have interest in the field you chose to study, you may find the subjects interesting and engaging.

The faculty here is good. Since we have the freedom to choose the faculty we study under by ourselves, it is easier to avoid faculty that are otherwise known for ill reasons. Teachers from all over India are there. So reviews from seniors might sometimes not be completely right since it depends on person to person.

Yes, we do have a placement cell in our university since this university is very placement oriented. As soon as students are in 3rd year, they go through very rigorous practice for placements. And throughout the curriculum, we have many courses that are placed there for the purpose of helping us in our placement / interview.

There are too many restrictions. Hostellers are not allowed to be in the garden past nine. You are to be in your rooms after ten. Water and wifi issues are always there.

It's still under construction. We have one academic block (AB), one architectural building (arch building) and one lab complex (LC). Girl's hostel has 2 blocks and boys hostel have 6 blocks. The girl's hostels have mess on the ground floor itself. And there are only two places where we can eat other than the mess.

Fests here are good as of what I've seen myself. But other than that, most clubs are not active. Campus is not so huge that you can be out and enjoy. You hardly find places where you can sit with friends in free time because of the crowd. Some club activities keep happening from time to time, though you have to pay for participating in them, always. Also, the campus is not even located in Bhopal. It’s in Sehore, 1.5 hours away from Bhopal. So if you want to go out for malls or anything, you have to travel for at least 1.5 hours to do so. Overall, campus life is not up to the mark.
