Review of University Institute of technology HPU

Overall Rating
UIIT HPU is a government institute situated in Shimla which is really a great environment to study in and also the campus life of students are really brilliant as it feels good when you are surrounded with nature around you. Campus is well developed and necessary needs of the students are available easily near the college.
 

Academics Rating
To be eligible for Computer Science Engineering in Himachal Pradesh University one must need to compete in HPUCET entrance exam after that there is an interview process for seat allotments. Maximum students are from Himachal Pradesh while students from all India are applicable to be in the exam but yet here HP bonfire students get reserved seats.
 

Faculty Rating
College teachers are professionals as they are Ph.D holders and most of them have passed their Ph.D from HPU so they have basic knowledge of student environment here. But they teach mostly theory instead of practicals while college provides facilities to teach practically. After 1st year most of teachers are professional engineers.
 

Placement Rating
We have placement cell in the college but most of the senior students prefer off campus placements as they offer more as compared with campus ones.
 

Hostel Rating
There are not any hostels for B.Tech students which is a major drawback of the university.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is basically average but environment around you is really good as compared with other private colleges. Fees are also less. Government doesn’t provide proper funds to the college but there are different blocks for each type of branches.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is perfect as you are living in Shimla which is not very hot but nowadays Shimla is suffering most from global warming. Last year many of the buildings were wiped out by rain and caused harm to many lives. There is fest and cultural activities in the university and most of the students are engaged in it.

    Overall Rating
    The study experience here is really different. Most of the time when you are in Shimla one don't need fans on ceiling and there is vast range of forests which makes you addicted to nature. Institute is pretty old and it's said that Mahatma Gandhi stayed there in Shimla which also make it a historical building but it's not that maintained by government due to insufficient funds....     Overall Rating
    As it is a government institute it is costly but not as compared with other private colleges. Overall our college is in a very beautiful location and also it has a good reputation. If you want to study in a nature loving environment than please go for it but beware that you will need to walk too much in order to attend the classes.... Read Full Review

  • My take on HPU academics and diversity
     

    Overall Rating
    Getting into HPU was like a dream come true. I visited HPU while I was in bed for seminars and fests and this college is humungous with its faculty in the north. You get to study from the best from their days and excelling students. It took me second counseling to get my seat in the college. I had an exam for which I prepared for months and only so I was able to clear it. The college recruitments was smooth I had no trouble and got my result at home.... Read Full Review

    Himachal Pradesh University is well known as HPU to every student. It is one of the famous universities in North India and I have been a part of this university. It is a huge campus and mostly every course is available there, and they prepare you for the IAS. The admission is followed by the entrance test in every course but they have 10% reservations for other states. This university is in Shimla and the weather is to die for throughout the year.   • UIIT uses outdated technology
     

    Overall Rating
    UIIT Shimla is an average College as it is cost-effective and the cost of the study is justified. However, if you look at the curriculum and labs that some of the private Universities like LPU University and Amity University have, it has almost nothing. UIIT Shimla does have a little higher regard because it is a government College, but to be honest, it wasn't worth it much.
