Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences entrance exam is KIITEE

Kalinga Institute of Nursing Science (KINS) is a college under KIIT which is quite good. Infrastructure and laboratories are good and also well maintained hostels are here. Its fee is quite higher than Nursing colleges in Bangalore but facilities are good. Its own hospital is available for practical and internship. If you want to study B.Sc Nursing and you are from Odisha or neighboring state then it is a good option for you.

It is 4 year program in which 6 months mandatory internship is included. Course curriculum is relevant and practical knowledge based. You have to take Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 then you have to appear in KIITEE and after counseling you can get the course. After B.Sc Nursing there is opportunity for M.Sc Nursing and Research, also opportunity of being a faculty for GNM students and the option of joining any hospital as B.Sc Nurse is always there, that's why I opt for the course.

Qualified faculties are there and for some courses specialized doctors teach the class. They teach with computer visuals. Faculties are very strict like they don't allow you to sit for entire lab time. If you can't answer their question then you have to write that 5 times and submit it next day. Overall they are very helpful.

For B.Sc Nursing there is no such thing like placement. You get registered from Odisha Nursing Board and you can find suitable career as nurse or sister tutor anywhere.

We have hostel facilities which charges around 80000 rupees per year (including food) for non AC rooms. AC room’s charges are higher. Food quality is not that good.

We have classrooms, labs and hospital. All buildings have AC in it. We have big library enriched with books and journals. Whole KIIT university has many departments, every department has different building. We have air conditioned auditorium which is used for different occasions. For every practical class we have distinguished and well maintained labs.

Students are from different state. You can make friends from different departments like Engineering, MBBS, Law, etc. So culture is quite diversified. To pursue hobbies we have clubs that any student can join. Sports facilities, gym and swimming pool is also available here. Every department has their own fest and also there is KIIT fest that is for all departments.
