Overall Rating
The reason I chose this college is because admission takes place only through the KCET exam and I have secured a good rank in it. The cut off is very less so I thought only meritorious students will join this college as there are no management seats. This college has a good reputation, alumni network and above all this it’s a government college with less fees. It is located in the center of the city, Bangalore. My overall experience in this college is quite good, it's worth studying in.
 

Academics Rating
The course that I have chosen has the eligibility criteria of passing 12th standard and get a good rank in the KCET exam. The cut off rank in this exam for the general category is 3000. The reason I chose this course is because the IT sector has a lot of scope and demand especially in cities like Bangalore. Also, the college holds a good placement record.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members teaching in the college are very well educated. Almost all of them are Ph.D holders and some are even alumni of this college itself. The faculty members are so kind. They are quite responsible and sincere towards teaching. Their style or method of teaching is very easy, multilingual and above all it’s not hectic for the students.
 

Placement Rating
Placements happen very actively in the college. The placement team is dedicated and hardworking under the guidance of a qualified placement officer. Almost 87% of students are placed every year in various top companies. There are many internships available for students, which is very helpful for students to secure a good job later.
 

Hostel Rating
The college has limited residential facilities for the students. But the hostel life is really fun and exciting. The quality of food is quite good too. The infrastructure in the hostel is average but adjustable. There are no such recreational activities so far in the hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the college is average as compared to any other engineering colleges in Bangalore. The area of the college campus is very less. The college has been renovated recently but still needs improvement and attention from the college administration. The college is surrounded by government buildings. The college is near to the Vidhana Souda and Cubbon Park.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is very nice. Every day in college is memorable. There is lot of crowd in the college, with students busy doing something. There are many student societies and clubs in college in singing, dancing, literature, technology and many more. Some technical student societies are IEEE and GDSC. There are 4 fests conducted every year, two technical and two cultural fests.

  • UVCE may not have the best infrastructure but have great placement record

    More than 100 years old college and probably the oldest engineering college of Bangalore is great when it comes to placements. The college has spoon-feeding even for M. Tech students and this is why I will be rating this college very highly irrespective of what others have to say. Once you do engineering from here, you will have great placement opportunities.   • UVCE has added a lot of value to my life

    Before coming to Bangalore, I never knew about UVCE and that this is one of the oldest colleges of the country. Other than academics, the college has taught me how to deal with people because when you stay at home, you don’t learn how to fend. So, coming out of home is in itself a huge learning. Why students in North are in a horrific state while pursuing and completion of engineering is what I learned here. Engineers in Bangalore are not worried about jobs but about learning the skills.
