Overall Rating
St. Xavier's University, Kolkata stands out as a distinguished institution known for its academic excellence and vibrant campus life. Renowned for its commitment to holistic education, the university offers a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. What made me choose Xavier's are their brand name and the environment where students engage in academic rigor. The campus fosters a dynamic environment where students engage in not only academic development but also develops soft skills.
 

Academics Rating
The core subjects in the law program of 5 years include Constitutional Law, Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Property Law which are essential for any law student and the core subjects form the base of a law student. The course also provides a specialization paper and clinical papers. Students after 10+2 are eligible and need to sit for the entrance exam.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are highly qualified often holding advanced degrees from prestigious institutions and possessing extensive legal practice experience. This combination of academic and practical expertise ensures students receive a well-rounded education. Faculty members adopt a dynamic approach to teaching, blending theoretical knowledge with practical insights. They use case studies, moot courts and interactive discussions for teaching effectively.
 

Placement Rating
Students typically become eligible for campus placements from the final year of their law program. This is usually during the 9th and 10th semester for a five-year integrated law course. The university's placement cell starts preparing students for placements from the 7th or 8th semester through various training sessions, workshops and internships.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the university does provide exceptional residential facilities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Facilities like the library with online databases, reading room, moot court hall, and classrooms with modern well-maintained and comfortable seating arrangements. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards for interactive teaching and projectors for advanced audio-visual systems to enhance learning. Facilities for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis and a well-equipped gym are available in the college.
 

Campus Rating
St. Xavier's University hosts an annual cultural festival which is typically held between January - February that is called Xavrang. Other fests are going on around the year organised by different societies and departments in the university. The university has a fantastic campus life bustling with academic activities, clubs & societies engaging in cultural events and competition fostering a vibrant community and holistic student growth.

    The experience at St. Xavier's University was great. The main reason that made me choose this university was the packages. Companies like SVF, ABP, and ZEE provide packages to students which students can avail. The highest package provided is 30 LPA and average package is around 13 LPA.     Overall Rating
    St. Xavier's University is a new extension of St. Xavier's College, established in 2017. My experience with this university is quite good and decent, but the only issue is the security guards keep on telling everyone to wear their ID cards. The college has an academic block, and there are 2 canteens with a gym, mess and hostel facilities for both boys and girls and a games room.
