From my perspective, a college will only help get you placed because I am working in the software industry for 4 years now, and now when I look back now, all I know is colleges in India only wants to make money. Most people will criticize Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology for its worst things, but people don’t see that RKGIT encourages students to prepare for GATE. In the final year, the faculty and management were happier because we were engaged in preparing for GATE exams. RKGIT will give you a feeling of some village, but RKGIT is a better option for outsiders as the hostels are good and just outside the college there are all essential item shops. Placements are worst but for those who have plans for further studies shouldn’t have any problems with it. I was happy with the infrastructure because I have never seen colleges of such stature in my village.

Academics of RKGIT is famous in the entire UP and NCR. I wish I could see those geniuses who have praised this college because in reality, it’s just a myth. I was in the CS department and labs were good, but getting all the possible knowledge of the subject at RKGIT is like making Nitin Gadkari leave the centre and serve his state Maharashtra again. My friends and I were given a project on the cloud, but no guidance or industrial mentor was provided. When we failed to deliver the project, our CGPA’s were severely impacted. They went to a level that college told us students with such CGPA’s are not allowed for placement training because they knew they can’t place them all. If one wants to know what ‘Chanakya Buddhi’ is, they should spend some time with RKGIT’s management.

On paper, it’s impossible to find such teachers. They all have 2-3 degrees and at least 15-20 years of teaching experience. One of our faculty members was so proud that he would add the passed-out students of every year and will keep boasting that I have produced these many engineers thus far. In 2016, the number was at 40k, so now if he is around, it must have crossed 50k. The college should try and get the people based on their teaching talent rather than hiring them on their degrees. Times have changed from before as even the people in villages now have computers, but RKGIT is still happy with the desktop type of teaching.

College holds a reputation, and this is why they have managed to bring in companies for 20 years now. However, since they knew that they could place only half the students every batch, they discard half the students for various reasons to appear for placements. Out of the remaining 50, maximum students get placed, and therefore the college always has nice numbers to show. Half-truth and half lie work really well in India. The college has successfully managed to fill all their seats showing their placements numbers, which are half true and half lies.

RKGIT Hostels are great and probably the best part of their infrastructure. In all there are 6 buildings for boys hostel and are allotted smartly so that any form of ragging or bullying by the seniors are avoided. I am not saying it doesn’t exist at all, but if one keeps themselves in a cocoon until they are juniors, then the hostel is definitely the safest place in a city that is always high in crime. The food quality at the hostel was good, and mostly all the students had induction cookers with them that took care of the midnight munching. Hostel life was extremely good and is one of those things about the college for which no appreciation can be good enough.

One of the best not just in Ghaziabad but in NCR region. Huge campus spread in 27 acres and has all the facilities that high society in general has. The digital library of the college has one of the smoothest processing and acquisition process for books that one wants to issue or submit. The library has a semester books section from where we can issue the books, and once the semester is done, we can submit and our deposit will be credited in our account. Classrooms are huge, and computer labs were new aged technology. There’s an entire building called Indoor stadium that has indoor gaming rooms both for boys and girls. Since the campus is huge, outdoor sporting facilities are also quite impressive. There are quite a few canteens, but none was good enough. Nescafe coffee shop was the one that had the maximum crowd in the evening.

Life at RKGIT was fun-filled as I made friends from students of various states. RKGIT have students from all over the country, and initially, I was labeled primitive and villager but soon became friends with the ones who used to call me so. Mostly rich family students and therefore most students are pretty organized. My personality changed, and I will be thanking the college and mostly its students who helped me overcome my fears and be more expressive in terms of doing things of my interest.
