ICFAI University B.Tech Review By Joshi Vineeta

If you’re planning to join ICFAI University Dehradun, it is a good choice. I have spent my 4 years here in this institute in Dehradun. I have got to learn a lot here. I never had an idea my college life could go, but it went well. After 4 years I look back I don’t have any regrets, it was a good experience here. Currently, I am in IIT pursuing M.Tech. I got admission here right after my 12th class. You don’t have to clear any entrance exam, it is a private university. College management was very nice and guided very well throughout the admission process. I found the brochure very interesting while I was taking admission here.

I gave my JEE exam, I didn’t get any seats in IIT so I planned to continue from here. The course proved to be very helpful later in my job also. CSE is the most asked subject these days, and my college has helped with that very much.

The faculty here were nice, every group of professors was supportive throughout our degree program. In my starting days, I don’t know but I found it hard to adjust here but a few semesters later colleges became very handy and also I became good in my studies. Professors I found after my second sem we extremely reliable and were so engaging. Also, faculty members inform if anything important is going in college through regular updating of notice boards. I have heard the website has been serving the same purpose now in online mode.

Placements went well. We haven’t expected such companies to come with so many offers. Our internships the prior year were also very good. We also had several workshops on how to excel in the upcoming internships and placements. I was glad that our professors took those essential workshops and seminars very seriously so our batch had an average CTC of Rs. 6 LPA approx and the top 10 students of our batch got an average of 8 LPA around which is pretty well for our university.

These hostels are located offside the college area but obviously very near to the college. Girls and boys get different hostels here. I haven’t taken the hostel facility but I have come to know a lot about them from my fellow batch mates. Students who live in the same city or even from places where they can easily travel to the college don’t apply for a hostel. Hostel fees are approx 10-12 thousand per month per student without food. That is one of the reasons I didn’t apply for a hostel.

One of the best parts of being here is its infrastructure, it is surrounded by green trees which feel very fresh whenever you roam around. I have also spent a good amount of time on the university’s playgrounds, they are very large and conduct almost every outdoor sport. I had an interest in football and have also gone on inter-college competitions from our college football team. Medical facilities were nearby and were also inside our campus. Apart from this, our entire campus looks very modern. The classrooms were nice and clean. During our exam times, I didn’t go home early right after the classes are over, instead, I used to sit in our college library with my friends to study. That was among the best days too.

I had spent a good time here at ICFAI. Except for B.Tech, the university offers so many different colleges. We never really got a chance to interact with other course students except in few cultural programs and sports events we attended. There in the college, you automatically establish a very friendly environment with your batch mates, seniors, and students from other courses than B.Tech. Fests aren’t really a massive part here to brag about but they are good to hang out and meet people. As of right now, there would not be happening any fests. There are very good places to visit outside the campus in the city of Dehradun.
