Review on F.D.D.I. Chennai

Overall Rating
I joined this college because of its fashion designing course. The fee is a bit high here and the campus is less crowed. But the fests organised every year are fun.
 

Academics Rating
To take admission in this university, one has to give the AIST exam. You need to pass this exam to get enrolled, chances are that you'll probably get in because there aren't a lot of people studying here.
 

Faculty Rating
Despite a few teachers, some are quite experienced. But I recommend doing self-study rather than being dependent on the teachers. You need to go for at least 7 internships within the college time period. So you’ll be able to learn, grow and experiment a lot.
 

Placement Rating
There are campus placement opportunities but we prefer the centralised placement cell since it has better placement opportunities. So you'd have to go to Noida to get placed. The average package is 4-7 LPA for fashion designing and 5-7 LPA for the footwear designing department. There's a 100% placement record.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel life is good. There are plenty of events conducted in the hostels but only a few students participate in it, so it won’t be so exciting. The hostel rooms are nice and all amenities will be provided.
 

Infrastructure Rating
We have 5 different blocks apart from the hostels. The library books are outdated but it's good enough for studying and clearing exams. The infrastructure is a 6/10, but new blocks are being made so it will enhance the college’s beauty. All classrooms are spacious and have ACs.
 

Campus Rating
The crowd count is pretty low (200 average) but the fests are fun. We celebrate every festival like Holi, Onam, Pongal, Christmas and Ramadan etc. Fests like the Annual Fest and Sports Day are held every year. Since there isn’t much a crowd it might be a bit boring.

    I am a student in FDDI pursuing bachelor in design which is a four year course. FDDI stands for Footwear Design and Development Institute has its branches in many states and is run by Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Even though this college is not that popular as NIFT and other design institutes this college provides with good exposure in the design field.     Overall Rating
    To be honest I had high expectation about this college but it is not up to it. It is located in a forest area which is in outer of Chennai. It is really difficult for the students to go the city side which takes max 2 hours to reach a place. Extracurricular activities are really fun not to complain about it.... Read Full Review

  • FDDI Kanchipuram great institute to learn design in footwear and fashion

    Footwear Design and Development Institute is located in Kanchipuram which offers degree in Bachelor of design and master of design in footwear and fashion field. The campus is amazing although I've been here only for few months. As I was very interested in fashion and clothing I applied for this college and got selected through the counselling process.
