My Overall College Experience

Overall Rating
My overall experience in the Goenka College of Business Administration is good. It is the dream college for every commerce student, that's why its cutoff is very high when taking admission here. Another good thing about this college that it is a government college, so the fee is very nominal.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing the undergraduate course of B.Com (Honours). To be enrolled in this course you must have passed your 12th standard exam with a high percentage, of at least 95%. My motive for studying this course is to explore the career opportunities in the accounting and finance fields.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of our college is highly educated and very proficient in their particular subject. The style of teaching by our faculty is really great; all the topics are explained in great depths. They are very kind towards their students, whenever we have any doubt they clear it immediately.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a placement cell at our institute. When we are in our final year, companies visit our college for recruitment. But I would like to mention that not all students should rely upon these on-campus placements, as companies hardly take 10-15 students from the college. So it becomes very competitive, but if you’re able to do this then it is really great because many big companies come to our college.
 

Hostel Rating
No, we don't have any type of hostel facilities in our college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure structure of our institute is highly advanced. We have digital boards in our class rooms and our college has a big canteen where you get a very tasty and hygienic food. I must tell you that our campus building is very big, a 5-story building with lift facilities. There is a library where you can get all the books for your particular semester and reading rooms where you can study peacefully without any disturbances. Our college has a computer room where all computer applications and tools are taught to us.
 

Campus Rating
I am in my last semester, so according to me the college life is pretty amazing. There is a common room where you can play indoor games with your friends. You will get many opportunities of participating in various activities like sports, cultural events and debates etc. In the month of November our college fest is conducted, which is so much fun to attend. Famous celebrities and artists come to perform and a DJ night is organised. Atlas, I guarantee you that the fests will be the most memorable moments of your college life.

    Goenka is a brand name; this has been rumored in all over the Kolkata. But the truth is completely opposite it has nothing special about it and the placements are not good. College premises and campus is just too small. Like the campus can't even occupy 200 students at once. Though the classrooms are quite big and occupy the number of students allotted to that class.
