Journey of My Optometry Life

Overall Rating
My overall college experience has been full of ups and downs. I always wanted to be a medical aspirant since my childhood. Other than NEET I wanted to take a medical course, and then one of my relative suggested me this paramedic course which included the treatment of eyes. Centurion University is the first university to provide a paramedics course with an affordable fees. So with my determination to treat patients and be a healthcare worker I chose the Optometry field.
 

Academics Rating
The course fee is ₹90,000 which is to be paid as half in each semester of the year. The eligibility of this course is to have more than 60% in 12th boards with PCMB. My motivation in choosing this field is to diagnose and treat the patients with various ocular diseases. The field serves to cure the patients with eye problems and diseases. This course is of 4 years out of which the first 3 years we are taught in classrooms while in the final year we have to do internships in different eye hospitals.
 

Faculty Rating
There are a total of 5 faculty members. Each one of them is an optometrist who has completed their M.Sc in Optometry and carrying the experience of almost 3 years working in hospitals. They constantly focus more on practical work and merging the theoretical knowledge with practical cases. They teach us how to differentiate various eye diseases in the patients and how to treat them for operation.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell. It does help in providing campus placements. Both clinical and optical jobs are provided to the students who have completed their 4-year of journey in this field. They get an average package of 3,00,000 LPA from the clinical line and 3,50,000 LPA from the optical field like Titan, Lenskart and Himalaya.
 

Hostel Rating
There are hostel facilities. The hostel fee is to be paid from the beginning of the year or else the room will not be available. The infrastructure and hostel food is good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus contains a library, academic cell, examination cell and different buildings for different courses. There is a gym area and a specific room provided for dancing and singing. The library comprises of a huge number of books for the students who can't afford to buy books from the market. The academic block focuses on the student’s attendance and academic values.
 

Campus Rating
The university conducts a Gajajyoti and Annual Tech Fest in February and March where both students and faculties are indulged in different co curriculum activities. It is a 3 day annual fest full of fun and laughter. There are different types of clubs for dancing, singing and acting, which you can join as per your interest.

    I am studying at Centurion University of technology and management of Odisha. It is a privately owned University. I choose this university because the fees of this college are relatively lesser than many of the private universities of Odisha. I am perusing my BBA here.     Centurion University of Technology and Management is a private university in Odisha. Since it is a private college, so without doubt the fee structure of hostel and academic fee is high but not that high if you compare it to other private colleges of Odisha. The authority of this college is very sincere to maintain their time management.
