IIIT BHUBANESWAR - WORTH IT OR NOT!!

Overall Rating
Overall it is a decent college according to me. This institute is good for those who want CSE at low rank in JEE MAIN. Placements are good and provide good opportunities to students. You can choose this option if you are not getting CSE in NIT and other better IIIT.
 

Academics Rating
This institute provides B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D course. B.Tech course is of 4 years and students have to get good rank in JEE MAINS to be eligible for the course. 50 percent Reservation for Orissa students are available and rest 50 percent is all India quotas. You can easily get CSE on 97 percentile.
 

Faculty Rating
Some of the faculties are Ph.D and M.Tech graduates from IIT. Some are guest faculty and M.Tech students. Senior faculties are well qualified and teach well. Most of them are helpful to students and try to help students to learn in a better way. Most of them focus on better placements for students.
 

Placement Rating
Yes there is a placement cell in the Institute who regularly try to gather companies from around the country to visit for campus placements. They are really helpful to students.
 

Hostel Rating
Separate hostel for boys and girls are present. Facilities such as gym library ground badminton court etc are present. Hostel life is decent in my opinion. Although mess food is not up to the mark.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Academic block are equipped with fans and no ac are present. Library is present and is equipped with all types of books and journals. Institute provides books to student during semester. All the necessary amenities like water coolers are present all over the blocks and labs are well equipped with equipment.
 

Campus Rating
Campus is a bit small and is of 21 acres only. There is nothing much to explore in the campus. Clubs and societies for different domains are present and functions well. The best part of campus life is the annual fest Advaita which is Orissa’s best techno cultural feta and is celebrated on a grand scale.

    Overall, this college has both advantages and disadvantages. It has a partially good infrastructure and good teachers. It has a partially well college life but in the end, you will enjoy every part of it. It is not like IITs or NITs so it can’t be compared to them but I expected the campus area to be bigger....     In my opinion, IIIT-Bhubaneswar is just like a normal college. Of course, it is under Odisha Government and has its own funding, benefits, pretty decent infrastructure, etc. But don't be amazed by the name international and all. Also, don't expect too much like IITs and top NITs. It was established only in 2006. So, looking into the development, it’s a good job done by the institute to adapt within this time span....     The institute has decent faculties and lab facilities. There are 8+ societies encouraging cultural, sports, films, art, and other interests. The total area of college is small but students are also less than other engineering colleges because our institute offers limited B.Tech courses as other IIITs. For students who got their percentiles between 93 to 96 in JEE Mains, this is a good option. I would advise students who are interested in coding this could be a nice option.... Read Full Review

    Overall Rating
    The campus of Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhubaneswar is a small campus i.e. of size 25 acres even though the campus life is beautiful and enjoying. Last was a recession year even though we got nearly 80 per cent placements in every branch. I didn't score good percentile and good marks in JEE mains and JEE Advanced so I have chosen this college because it is best one for my rank.... Read Full Review

    Yes it's a mixed experience till now but the first thing I want to say is the seniors are very good to us and I have made so many friends here. But you should come here when you can adjust and eat any type of food. You cannot even go outside to have something as there are very few options to go because it's located in city outskirts and the mess food is not very good.... Read Full Review
