Government Engineering College Idukki Review

Overall Rating
Government Engineering College Idukki is the peaceful and beautiful college. Educational and extracurricular activities are having equal importance in our college. We are in a truly great place. Here we can study together with no disturbance of outside people or traffic. Teachers are professional, friendly and helpful. Overall I like my college and I will recommend to others.
 

Academics Rating
As a computer science student I feel like we have the best computer laboratory and professionals to teach us. Professors are understanding and help us to get the good grades. Each student gets a laptop for lab time. Concentrating on the programming field. Many workshops are also conducted for providing practical knowledge to the students. To get admission in this college KEAM entrance exam is the key. For polytechnic pass out students Lateral Entry EXAM will be there for admission to second year if vacancy exists.
 

Faculty Rating
There are many faculties to help us to study. Most of them are Ph.D holders. Professional and friendly personalities help us to get good grades. I believe we have the best teachers.
 

Placement Rating
Currently computer science department is having the highest number of placements in our college. Placement cell is here for helping the students to get placed. Students are placed by attending the interviews I guess.
 

Hostel Rating
2 Hostel for girls (Nilah and Cabani) for girls inside the college campus and 1 boy’s hostel in Painavu. A new boy’s hostel will be constructed in near future.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are 4 buildings in this campus. There are administrative block, mechanical block, electronic and communication, electrical and electronics engineering block, computer science and information technology block. In administrative block we are having the library and canteen. Good condition buildings, free Wi-Fi in campus, good infrastructure and 3 college buses are available here. Sports meet is also organised in the college.
 

Campus Rating
Campus is situated in Kuyilimala near Painavu. Very nice atmosphere and nature. We can explore the beauty of Idukki everywhere we are going. I am so happy to be here. And got a break from the city life and traffics. Tech fests and many webinars were conducted here. NSS is the main club here many other tech and palliative club like oasis is here. Students who are interested can join in each or create new clubs.

    Government Engineering College Idukki is one of the only 9 Government Colleges in Kerala. So, the college has high value in term of reputation. College is situated in Painavu which is a mountain area with cold and foggy climate most of the time. College itself is situated on top of hill.
