IIT Gandhinagar is a new IIT which is rapidly growing and what attracted me the most was the modern campus and all the amenities provided in the campus. IIT Gandhinagar has some of the best hostels throughout all IITs and it is something that really caught my eye as what I mainly needed was good hostel rooms and also IIT Gandhinagar provides AC so that's a benefit too.

IIT Gandhinagar, being an IIT, we need to take admission through JEE advanced marks, but that's not the only way we can get into the B.Tech program at the college, as the college provides admission through Olympiad scores, too. The courses currently offered are CSE, EE, and more.

One of the best things about IIT Gandhinagar is the faculty. Most of the faculty members that are present on the campus are young and progressive, and this makes it easier for the students to interact and work with the profs. All the professors are involved in research parallel to teaching, which ensures that the content taught is up to date with the industry, and also provides students with internship opportunities.

There is currently an upward trend in the number and amount of placements, but due to the recent recession, the number of placements has dropped a bit but it will probably increase in some time again, considering more and more companies are coming to the campus.

The hostels in IIT Gandhinagar are some of the best across all the IITs. The hostels are well-designed and spacious and address all the student's needs. One of the most significant factors that make IIT Gandhinagar hostels better is that they provide ACs in all the hostel rooms, ensuring comfortable sleeping conditions all year. Other amenities include fridges, microwaves, induction stoves, and a water cooler on every floor, which makes it very convenient for students to make their food when needed, and this also shows the progressive nature of the college.

As IIT Gandhinagar is a new IIT, all the infrastructure on the campus is quite modern and fresh, and the campus layout has been mapped very well. A large area has been dedicated to the academic block, which hosts multiple state-of-the-art laboratories, and the campus is green. This means the campus is also eco-friendly. The other highlight is the Sports complex, which has some world-class facilities and covers most sports, including aquatics. The sports complex is so well equipped that many national and international level tournaments are conducted in the field on a regular basis.

I feel that college life here is vibrant as there are a lot of things that can be done on campus, and also the two fests of the college, Amalthea (tech summit) and Blithchrone (cultural fest), keep the students active all year round. The students are involved well in these fests, which can be seen by how fast these fests are growing. One downside is the club culture, which is primarily inactive on campus, but attempts are being made to bring them back.
