Located in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, DIET is one of the best private engineering colleges when it comes to a B.Tech (Bachelor in Engineering and Technology) degree in various fields of engineering. Approved by AICTE and affiliated by MAKAUT, this college is also accredited by NAAC, TCS and collaborated with some prominent Universities and Institutes related to Engineering like NIT Durgapur, Bengal Engineering and Science University, University of North Bengal, Presidency University etc. Programmes offered by this college are B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Master degree (M.Tech) in Electronics & Communication Engineering. DIET has maintained a steeply emerging standard and all admission to this college can be availed only after clearing WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) and JEE-Main (Joint Entrance Examination). There have always been limited seats available for each department of engineering and since the college is mostly focused on quality, all admissions are purely on merit. Being a former student of DIET, I have thoroughly enjoyed their excellent E-Library facilities and special training for various soft skills and communication skills which have helped me extensively in life, both in career and personal. And the best part of this college is their excellent Training and Placement cell and extensive training on practical applications of engineering and industrial training.

Apart from an excellent On-Campus Placement Cell, we have always been facilitated with high-quality laboratories, equipped with the most modern amenities. We also enjoyed a fully equipped computer Center with high-speed internet facilities, a Language Laboratory, a Computerised Library, Art Laboratories, Seminal halls and Graphic halls. Projects, assignments and practical application of engineering knowledge were always given special preference which helped us to practically get placed in jobs and excel in our careers. Apart from this, DIET always focuses on developing management skills in students like team building, soft skills, communication skills etc. which manifested as an extra reward throughout our life.

When it comes to faculty, I can never ignore the fact that my college faculties have been one of the best assets during my graduation years. Apart from having enormous teaching skills and experiences, they not only taught us with the most modern methods of teaching but always focused on individual students to get their doubts cleared. I have enjoyed several private sessions with many of them, whenever I encountered any issues with learning. Since laboratories and practical applications are one of the most important aspects of engineering, our faculties have always made sure to give special attention to what we learn and how we complete our practical assignments. They would always ask verbal questions and explanations of why and how we have been doing a particular step in the assignment so that there remains zero chance of escape from not clearing a single doubt.

DIET has a Center for Corporate Relations which interacts with companies regularly and arranges students placements. Numerous students have been successfully placed by this college with over 40 reputed organisations like TCS, CTS, IBM, Wipro, Accenture, Hexaware, Tech-Mahindra, Indian Army to name a few. We enjoyed special career counseling starting from the third year onwards and extensive support has been provided by the Training and Placement cell to make sure all deserving candidates get well-placed in their careers once they complete their degrees.

Being a fully residential college, DIET has four boy's hostels and one girl's hostel. The girl's hostel is located near the college campus, providing extra security for women. Full-time supervisors and fully equipped guards are appointed in all hostels to ensure not only safety but the general well-being of the students. A wide variety of Indian cuisines are available to opt for, keeping in mind the nutritional values of the food being served. A special Anti-Ragging committee and Anti-Sexual harassment cell are fully functional in DIET ensuring a peaceful and harmless environment in hostels as well as college campuses.

Located in the suburbs of West Bengal, the DIET college campus spreads over 26 acres of pollution-free, lush green environment. Apart from five hostels, we enjoyed fully equipped technical laboratories, fully Wi-Fi facilitated hostels and computer laboratories, computerised libraries, a Health centre, a modern Gymnasium, Canteen and large playgrounds. There is a sports board in DIET that aims to foster team spirit, discipline apart from general well-being. A well-furnished guest house is also there on the college campus for accommodating visiting lecturers and parents. Though remotely located, the DIET college campus is stunning, peaceful and well-equipped with all modern facilities. Proper RO water, full-time internet and Wi-Fi connectivity and ATM facilities make the place 100% self-sustained.

Yearly college fests, picnics, sports tournaments were our most awaited events throughout the year. We were always encouraged for maintaining environmental hygiene and friendliness with locals. I thoroughly enjoyed my four years of engineering in this college and will always recommend any engineering graduates to opt for this excellent institution.
