I took admission in this college since it is the best university for statistics following the Indian Statistical Institute. The faculty here is very friendly and always ready to help you regardless of academics or personal matters. Another main reason for choosing this college is fantastic sports facilities. The best part about the campus is it is very eco friendly.

In order to get enrolled in this college, you must pass the admission test. It consists of a theory exam and an interview. The theory exam is based on 11th and 12th Standard Maths. The cutoffs are generally high. To sit in the examination you must have a minimum of 85% in Mathematics in 12th standard.

This college is the best option for Statistics Honours. The professors are very friendly and will teach you in a very interactive way. Most of them have pursued their bachelor's from this college and went to the Indian Statistical Institute or The Calcutta University for their masters. My favourite thing about the faculties are, they will never put pressure on you and will always guide you.

Till now there is no placement cell in the college. But since most of the students opt for masters, a placement cell isn't required. But the alumni of this renowned college are spread everywhere. They can give you placement opportunities.

The hostel is good except for the food. To be honest it is tremendously bad. Everyone has to mandatorily attend the prayer held two times in a day. The hostel superintendent is a little strict but everyone gets habitual to them with time.

No other government aided college in West Bengal is this good to be honest. The infrastructure is superb. Every classroom has digital screens. Though the teachers teach in the traditional way of using black boards but still the facilities are well lit. The college has two canteens and the food is decent and at reasonable prices.

The campus life here is exquisite. Mainly because of the residential factor. The hostel mates become your family and the sports facilities provided are awesome. Almost every sport including basketball, football, cricket, badminton, volleyball, table tennis and carrom etc. are played. For every sport there is a specific court. Generally, the college doesn't arrange any fest but every department has their own event which is held for a day. The Statistics Department organises the event, “INFERENCIA” every year. There are many clubs here which you can join as per your interests and hobbies.
