Datta Meghe College of Engineering Airoli B.Tech Review By Deep Bhamare

Datta Meghe College of Engineering is a well known college for pursuing Bachelors of Engineering in all fields. DMCE is famous for civil engineering. Civil engineering students also come here from other parts of state. Overall experience is good. This college comes under Mumbai University so it helps students to get placed in all over the country. The crowd or the students here are not that much great.

DMCE has Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication, Civil Infra and Chemical Engineering. Curriculum is of Mumbai University. Admission are done through CET and JEE marks and also through Management Quota. Eligibility changes every year and is different for each branch (cut off). Admission is also done after Diploma in direct second year. After diploma we get admitted in second year (SE) in interested branch.

Faculty in DMCE is average and not so bad. Professors and Assistant Professor are well educated here. They also are problem solver but many of them have ego or attitude problem, they behave like they are teaching for free. Not helpful for students they don't even bother to clear students doubt. So, faculty here is not what we expect before taking admission.

We do have placement cell in our college. They do help students to acquire jobs. But, they don't provide high paying jobs or jobs from well-known firms. The average package is around 3 to 4 lakhs. There’s no guarantee that you will get placed. So, from the start you have to develop your skills and have to stand on your own feet for placement (off campus).

DMCE doesn't provide hostel facility.

Infrastructure of our college is not that great. Classrooms are huge but the fans are not properly placed that everyone could get the air. Ventilation in the classroom is good. Washrooms here are so bad they do have servants for cleaning but they don’t do their job properly. The water in the washroom is always dirty. But, they do provide drinking water on every floor. DMCE has two buildings, the old one and the new one. So, the new building is good till now and third building is in progress.

DMCE doesn't have campus just a tall building and nothing at all. For campus we only have corridor and compound of the building. They have underground parking for students and faculty. Canteen is worst only during inspection they hire canteen staff after that the canteen doesn't even serves edible food so canteen is not that good. Every branch organises fest or events and every year a tech fest is organised. They provide workshops for abroad education for which they get paid. Also, some educational workshops in which entrepreneur are invited to encourage the students are organised. Sports day happens which is good.
