Overall Rating
My experience till the date in this college is a bit better than other tier 3 government colleges of West Bengal. I chose this college because it’s near my home town, it has a ragging free campus, it has a pollution free environment, and the faculties are good.
 

Academics Rating
I'm enrolled in the course of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). To take admission in this college, you have to appear in the WBJEE entrance examination. On the basis of the rank and cutoff score you can take admission. In our college many courses are there such as mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication, computer science and civil engineering. I took CSE because of my interest in coding but you can choose any course as per your interest and rank in WBJEE.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are really good. In the CSE department, the faculties are very skilled. They are research scholars in renowned colleges like IIT Kharagpur, Calcutta University and the famous NITS. They are helpful. They will try their best to support and guide you. There are almost 8 teachers in our department. They usual teach through manual boards and projectors.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a placement cell which was doing well till 2022. From 2023 I noticed a downfall in the placements mainly due to the post COVID effects. Therefore, quite average placements have occurred for the last two year, with an average of 3.6 lakhs per annum. About 40-50% students from all departments gets placed. Placements of ECE department are a bit better than other departments. Many service based companies come for recruitment like TCS, IBM, WIPRO and Infosys.
 

Hostel Rating
For girl’s 1st to 4th year students, hostel is provided but only 3rd and 4th year boys can opt for hostel. Mess is available near college. The hostel food is healthy and very hygienic. Both the food quality and menu are satisfactory. Approx Rs.15,000 is taken for hostel, mess, electrical and others charges. 3-4 students share a room. Purified drinking water is provided only in hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are 2 academic blocks, one for civil and ECE and the other for CSE, electrical and mechanical engineering. The labs are having a sufficient number of computers and resources. Trees have been planted in campus, uplifting the campus’s beauty. The library is good but doesn't have a good collection of new edition books.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is average, not too great but not too bad. Annual fests, fresher’s party and the farewell party etc. are organised. Student run clubs like the coding club, robotics and innovation club are there. Often seminars, business project idea seminars, coding fortnights, hackathon are organised from different clubs. You can join these clubs to enhance your skills.

    I chose this college because this college is near from my home town and the train station is 1 km away from the college campus so there is convenience of commuting I heard before admission in this college that the education of this college is quite good so I took admission there.     Ramkrishna Mahato Government engineering college formerly known as Purulia Government Engineering College is established in 2016, so it is not much older. College campus is quite good. It is situated at Chas Road in Purulia District. The locality is very rural. College campus is good. As a new college the placements records are good. There are very friendly environment is college.
